To be honest, the whole idea of dragons in the game troubles me. It reeks a bit too much of cheap, gimmicky fan service.

I said yes. Just so I could steal the baby from a dragons nest. Put it in the middle of a field surrounded by my traps and wait for its mother to come along. Then of course sell the baby dragon to a mudcrab for loads of gold.
Now why would a mudcrab be out in the middle of the snow?

If you're a PC gamer, then modding a baby dragon companion would be pretty easy (assuming that modding in Skyrim is similar to Oblivion). I'm actually pretty positive that a dragon companion is going to be one of the first mods to come out.

A smaller dragon would be nice as a pack animal for your loot and stuff.

It would be cool to have a pet dragon in real life, but not in Skyrim. The dragons are supposed to be the bane of mankind, taming one is not going to fly. Also in Skyrim the dragons are beings which means you could make friends with one, but not keep it as a pet. That would be a form of slavery.

Yeah, because they did it to appease all the people who saw How to Train your Dragon. It's not like they haven't been in the lore since forever or something stupid like that. :whistling:

You'd probably know if you read the first post.

Well, I'd like it but I've no idea how that'd fit in to the game.

However you do get a dragon shout that calls a dragon to your side, if that counts...

But having one follow me around would be nice too. I'm voting yes but I really don't see it happening.

I mean, what kind of cold, heartless Player could kill an adorable dragonling like that?

Mine would for sure..............

The dragons are the bad guys, it's just how they roll

Yea, just because they are a threat people have to label them as "Evil".

Seems like something a mod would be better suited to handle, from a purely technical aspect.

I wouldn't mind; I have plenty of characters with different personalities. I'm sure one of them would love an opportunity like this.

I, on the other hand, would prefer to become the dragon. Because that's just how I roll. On my pile of coins.

Chainy showed me this CG movie by Blender Foundation called "Sintel".

The baby dragon, named Scales, is sooooo cute! But the end is sooo sad. It made me cry. But back to the topic subject, would you like to be able to adopt or at least see a dragonling in TESV? I was thinking it would be amazing to stumble upon an adandoned dragon nest and discover one surviving egg. Instead of eating it, you take it to see if it will hatch. Either that, or you are wandering through the land and come across a lost dragonling that was abandoned by its parents (probably Dovahkiin killed its parents). And you can either kill it or take care of it. If the lost little dragonlig had emotional facial expressions like Scales in the "Sintel" movie, that'd surely put a soft spot in almost everyone's heart. I mean, what kind of cold, heartless Player could kill an adorable dragonling like that?
Thoughts? Opinions?

I don't want to adopt a dragon in TES(since dragonlings are a pain in the [censored] in DF, if it's the first time you play it), but thank you for the link. That movie was amazing.
Edit: I think it would add a lot to rp-ing when I think more about it. A decent amount of people would want one and I must say I'm getting a bit curius myself. My goodie two.shoes Dovahkiin wouldnot kill a dragonling that did not attack first, but probably not raise it myself. Maybe find a friendly sorceress to help me. This idea is, of course, highly unlikely, but would be interresting.
And to you who say that we wouldn't be able to kill dragonlings, I disagree. I think they will be used as a critter(decently powerfull too) like they did in DF.

I think the only baby dragons we'll see in the game are broken eggshells after we have slain the mama.
