I've been wondering this myself. I also wonder how big the capital is going to be? Skyrim has five "massive" cities, so the capital has to be even bigger than one of the other four "massive" cities.

Actually? for a change... due to the civil war stuff and the fall of the Empire, I think it's possible there's no capital this time. I guess it'll make the game even cooler for me if there wasn't any capital city.

In the American Civil War, there were two capitol cities, Richmond, and Washington, D. C.

If one studies the map in the concept art video, Windhelm is labelled REBEL while Soilitude is labelled EMPIRE.

Will these cities be the capitols of the opposing factions of the civil war in Skyrim?

Edit: Minor revision

Bethesda, I would totaly get an exploratory orgism if the capitol city in Skyrim was just one major ruined city, burnt down to the ground and ripe with undead, bandits or whatever. It would be the perfect superdungeon and it could even emulate the first dungeon game ever made (Chainmail?) - the one that D&D was based upon.

That makes since seeing a civil war having 2 capitols kinda like:
Richmond and DC
Tripoli and Bengazi
Pyonyang and Saigon
You'll get the same effect in any civil war genus

Though during the Septim Empire there was no capitol because every city-state had a king.

Yeah I'm kind of curious as to how not having a capital city will make Skyrim "cooler"; that doesn't make any sense lol. What cool factor is denoted from a capital city? 0.o
I don't get it.
