Fallout New Vegas Walkthrough Allowed

Post » Mon Nov 01, 2010 4:32 pm

I'm not advertising it's a question to the devs is it alright to do a walkthrough of the game once it's released? I'm asking because Youtube has taken videos down in the past for games that weren't allowed.

Walkthroughs are perfectly legal. If you try selling the game, then that's illegal, but you're simply sharing your experience.

Youtube has a policy of removing videos that get a copyright regardless if it's a true copyright infringement or not. All you have to do is fill out an online form to release any videos with copyright strikes, and they'll remove the record from your account along with restoring the video.

I would assume so.

I don't see why they wouldn't, except for trying to get more money through the strategy guides, perhaps.

But I don't think that's how they roll. :P

True, they get more sales from free advertising than they would from strategy guides. Also the Fallout Wiki would have to be taken down and stuff like that. Remember You Tube is free advertising for Bethesda. The more people who release videos of their products the more exposure the game gets. Who is going to crap on free advertising?
