Block skill levelup causes loss of button push

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 2:17 pm

I'm having an issue. My block skill is at the time to level up. My problem is when it does level up, I lose the ability to press the "ok" button. I have to ctl-alt-del out of the game. I can't push any buttons when the block skill levels up. That means I can't push load game, exit game etc. I've had this problem for a long time with the marksman skill, but never the block skill.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this.

Are you using a leveling mod? I think at one time I was using Realistic Leveling and had a similar issue using one of the options for verbose leveling or silent leveling. Shot in the dark.

Yes, I'm using nGCD. I can't go without that. Or at least some leveling mod. I'll try disabling it and see if it makes a difference.

Yep, that was the problem. I disabled nGCD and it was okay. Not 100%, it took a few hits of the button, but it worked. I'll have to post this on the nGCD thread. Maybe kyoma can do something about it. I have to have a leveling mod though. The vanilla system just plain svcks.

Glad you found the problem, this is the week for gaming. One thing to maybe check is if it uses OBSE and if you updated to the latest OBSE 19b. I seem to be having some quirks, don't know if it irelated or not, I am using OBSE 19b. Good luck.

Actually, nGCD isn't the problem. I posted too soon. I disabled it again, and the problem persists. So it's something else. I don't know why it fixed it the first time. Any other suggestions? Someone (I think tomlong) said to disable any hoykey mods you may have. So I'm going to try that.

I am running OBSE 0019b.

What do you mean "this is the week for gaming"?

EDIT:

No, not my hotkey mod. I have no clue.

Is there any way to exit out of menus without pushing the "ok" button? Or whatever button it may be? A console command, perhaps?

Okay. I used the "advskill" console command and it worked okay.

Depends on your UI mod. Pretty sure Darn utilistes the cursor up key (or is it down?) for 'OKing' out of menus.

Ah yes. More free time. I'm going out of town for Thanksgiving - so I will be away from my computer.

It's the up arrow key that toggles menus for Darn/Darkui'd Darn.

Does that allow you to exit the window when you loose mouse control?

Oooh - Two stars now :D

It hasn't happened since I learned you can do that. So, I don't know. Probably not, would be my guess. And, I don't lose mouse control. The mouse works fine. I just can't press any buttons. Like "ok" and "exit" etc.

Yes.

Pushing the up arrow key allows me to exit out of the menu when the mouse won't.
