Big thanks to Bethesda and Splash Damage!

Hi there,

im from Germany and i am playing brink since its release and seriously you guys are amazing, i havent played anything else in betweeen and i will be playing it the next months. its just awesome what bethesda and splash damage made here. ok, despite the few laggy games wich will be adressed shortly i heard i havnt had any problems with the game overall, even laggy games are scarce due to the only gametype i play is competition and campaign. i just wanted to give bethesda and splash damage some props for making a great game that will fit me in front of my tv for the next months. Brink just isnt another boring stereotype fps like the cod series or other mediocre military shooters. and the character customization... keep that coming, i think i spent an equal amount of time customizing and playing. its just great.

Keep up the good work and dont let brink sink!

i liked the game too, the graphics are more art than game graphics, character customization didnt seem to lack all the art potential and the hang music made it even better, genious delivery.

if they would just add all the maps together in a seamless non instances all in one map with other stuff to do there, that would be something

This game uses COD and HALO style Melee... Im sure you would have more fun with a choice of MELEE WEAPON

Don't you think they went too far with the scoring and forced teamwork aspects of the game?

Hear, hear!

Apart from some laggy games and the occasional glitch (which, of course, every game has), I think it's awesome.

Also, don't forget that pretty much every online game out there starts off laggy and slow for a couple of weeks until it gets into the groove of things.

Well now you have choice.
You can choose an objective based shooter: Brink, or a kill 'em all shooter: CoD.

The AI doesn't understand the first thing about teamwork, but I reckon a team of buddies do. I think this might actually be a ton of fun, once people find out that they can't approach it exactly like they would some some other shooters.

As long as important issues are addressed (lag, incompetent AI, glitches, etc) and support (like DLC and patches) is worked on, then Brink could become a better success (it is already good, but needs to get better). :)

I like how different this game is compared to most mainstream FPS games in the market right now, and I hope to see it get supported. I like variety in my games, and Brink brings that. ^_^

I'll thank them when they finally fix the rubberbanding lag issues among other things. Now my personal characters don't show up in public or co-op matches, instead they show me playing someone else. Oh yeah, the friendly bots svck too. I know not everyone is having these problems and believe me i wish i didn't have them with this game neither so i can enjoy it too,but the truth is there's thousands of us going through this crap with this game and it's shown by all the complaints on every forum that has to do with this game. And i'm not talking about the lame complaints of nerfing weapons or the smart not being smooth like some complain about, that's just pure whining. I'm talking agout game breaking issues that alot of us have. I'm on the 360 slim and we seem to have got the a** end of the stick. I hope they fix it soon so i can enjoy an otherwise great game with the rest of you guys.

I don't know about you but I brought BRINK so that I could run up walls and shoot people in style.

When I get a score of 25'000 I want to know what portion of that was KILLS, and what portion was OBJECTIVE.

Most FPS players I know want bragging rights. A score board in FPS is like the wheel, there is no need to re-invent that portion of the game, it changes the ambience and feel, there is no satisfaction in seeing my name 3 times on a scoreboard that doesn't include your enemy without pressing [RB].

Ok, i have to calm down first before even starting to reply. "Went to far with the FORCED Teamwork ?"
It was developed, advertised and sold as a Team based shooter. Its sole purpose of existence is to deliver a fun time for people looking exactly for that. A game where Teamplay is core component.
Where single minded actions will get you nowhere.

I may be overreacting and i dont think splash damage will turn this into a CoD clone because a few people moan on the forums but still.
Some people should inform themselves more before buying a game.

In my opinion, the game DOES have flaws. Flaws what can ruin the experience at times, yet I looked past all the flaws because they tried to make something unique. Most mainstream first person shooters try to cash in on call of duties success and barely add anything new to the gameplay.

I'm sorry but is this all you do? sit on a public forum and repeat yourself time n time again? if you don't like Brink then trade it in, simple as that really.

I for one have seen the problems Brink has for myself, is that stopping me from playing it? No it's not, i would rather use the time it takes to post a reply about the obvious problems by teaching the A.I a thing or two.. as a matter of fact, while typing this I'm currently hacking the warehouse controls so i can retrieve the Avionics (with one hand.. i need the other to type lol) it takes a while and my A.I Team mates are doing there job. so checking out the forums seemed like a good idea to pass the time.

Right... gotta go, a Heavy just ran down the ramp.. F**K he looks p***ed

I agree.

Bethesda told us they only will release bugfree games. But Brink isnt just not bugfree, its sometimes a total disaster. Its fun to play, no question. But when your fps goes down or the sound is off again, the fun fade away very quick..

The thing is some have lag issues, some havnt, at first i had some major problems with the lag, (playing on 360). now i only play competition mode and no lag at all, not 1 game. everything runs fine. sure big teams and campaign lag but those things will be adressed. no multiplayer based shooter rolls out just 100% fine out of the box. if bethesda and SD give the game the support it need i still believe this game will grow a good fanbase. and the problem with the character not showing up in public matches. i had a few of those moments, after you die or whatever its solved. so if they be pushing DLC and patches i will stick to this rather then to another cod or some sort of clone. and its already worth just playing around with the character editor, really everytime i get a new idea of what combination to go now. first i played as resistance light medic lvl 20, so done. now im going for light security operative....
