it adds survival dehedration and sleep and food, so if you reload your recent save, you're still going to die, unless you find a life line.

Of course not, So you don't get pissed of and throw your computer/console out the window when you accidentally step on a random mind. \
Stop making hardcoe mode thread, make one and ask your questions there.

The point is to make it a little bit harder. Why bother erasing save files if you die on hardcoe? You could just make copies and move them to another folder before starting a game. hardcoe is supposed to make the game more challenging, not frustrating.

Dead is Dead? Strictly an RP thing, like F3. Death from the HC requirements I imagine will be no different from being shot or blown up.

I highly doubt it. Imagine being level 30 and roaming the wastes when oops you slip just that time and step on a land mine.BOOM! All the time spent in your FNV life turned into time wasted. That is like saying that if you die in a video game then you can no longer play that game at all because you, the main character died.

Diablo 2 hardcoe mode was put in for those who have played through the game countless times and this truly works better in the diablo 2 style game. It has multilayer and it is harder for something random to kill you. Like in fallout 3 a random grenade thrown could kill you without you even knowing what happened. Lastly hardcoe in this game will add additional challenges like dehydration and hunger, so why would perma death come with this.

Did you really need to make a topic about this when you received the answer and discussion on it in another http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1121164-the-most-biggest-likelyhood-of-dying-in-hardcoe-mode-is/page__st__20? Just a little while ago tonight at that?

Perma-death is just ridiculous in any game. You can't do the things you can do in video games with the threat of perma-death and expect to get through a game. The game mechanics would have to be laughable for that to be a possibility. It is the reason you can face a dozen armed gunmen and engage them in a shoot-out while driving fast cars through a crowded street - you aren't facing permanent game ending death. Guess why we don't do that kind of thing in real life? The threat of permanent death.

It would be a very timid journey through the wasteland of the Mojave with perma-death hanging over your head. Who wants to play for 60 hours and then lose it all because a raider bullet hit the grenade you just threw? Or you back-peddled over a cliff and died? Masochistic much?

Here's an idea:
Disable all auto saves.
Don't quick save.
Don't save.

If steps 1-3 fail somehow, just got to main menu and select "start new game". OR if you want to avoid the character creation process just save ONE TIME after you've created a new character; when you die, just reload that initial save.

THIS ISN'T 1998 anymore buddy. WE HAVE OPTIONS.

So how about an option to beat the game with one button push? Options aren't always good.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man, much?

Not wanting to risk losing dozens of hours of effort in a single event is a whole different thing than making things so easy the game can be won "with one button push".

Did I say they were? Nope, I just said we have them. Still, this option IS good.

And not everyone is going to sink 500 hours into this. Most people are going to run through it a few times blowing off steam from the RL and probably don't want to deal with the tension of having to restart their game. Those same people might be interested in the hardcoe mode though.

My point is there's options for people who want a challenge, NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO SAVE. PEOPLE ARE SUCH [censored] HYPOCRITS
And options for those who would like to chill.

But D2's hardcoe mode was just that, it didn't change anything else, NV adds just a little bit of realism. Also, it would be a shame to die and lose your character by falling through the world as it happened in Fallout 3.

I looked at both threads that you started about the same thing and this one did not win the coin toss. Closed.
