Should Skyrim, lying in the far north, have extreme seasons? As in a period of constant daylight in the summer and constant darkness in the winter. Characters could even get Seasonal Affective Disorder...

A little too far into realism for my taste. Besides, the timescale is already fast enough thank you.

Honestly, I don't think this will ever be in game and personally I wouldn't want it  RPing purposes, plus you'd get bored pretty quickly. Besides vampires couldn't go outside during certain periods which would svck...

I'm not sure the climate of Skyrim is a cause of being far north in tamriel. I think that I read somewhere that it's a relativelly southern place, to have effects like larger day or nights.

Well the sky itself should look more like a northern sky... including definetly northern lights.. and in winter months alot less light even in mid day with the sun never being directly overhead and the nights being very long.

If they can't make seasons they sure can't make black winter days and midnight suns.

Correct me if I'm wrong about seasons.

They could, 15 years ago, but they must have forgotten how to do it.

However, there WOULD be a period of time opposite in the year when they would be able to go out for days at a time

Ever see/read 30 Days of Night?
