Agreed. It's better than finding a tiny stickied forum post that says. "Hai guyz Skyrim has been pushed back to December. kthxbi." Most articles about delays are basically that.

I don't think they'll push it back. It's almost already done first of all. Plus they've never had an actual due date before, so they wouldn't have said it if they weren't going to make it in time. That being said it, it's not impossible for it to be held back.

I know, I love how they are marketing that game. :spotted owl:

Enjoy a little humor while getting a little bad news, shows they care :shifty:

It was stated in the recent OXM magazine article that Todd Howard was and is dead set on hitting the 11.11.11 date

I hope they delay Skyrim if they need to. New Vegas should have been delayed. I would rather them delay it 6 months and have it released bug-free. They should have delayed New Vegas. Having a game full of bugs right on release day can ruin the experience.

DNF is the biggest fail in the history of video games. It's a complete joke. It's even a bigger joke that they have a "special announcement" to delay a game that's already been delayed for 10+ years. Who cares about Duke anymore? The franchise is dead to many people now. This game won't be enough to resurrect it.

The multi-player was broken or it's a joke until April 1st.They are hitting 11.11.11 unless they have an event of apocalyptic proportions. Delays are common but only among lack luster games home front and the MP shooters that never test their damn net code ,only to ship with a janky product with frame drop issues and online bugs galore. I can only imagine what COD:waw would have turned into if the beta glitches got into the final product. I wonder what the design document looks like for duke nukem, might be bigger then the bible at this point.

This.

Oh, and I think you mean April 1 not March 1?

Yep nice catch.
Edit: Also if they would have checked in with obsidian it might have received a delay. You have corporate on your ass once all the time with with other companies like EA. Thats why duke nukem got away with it as long as did because 2k doesn't harass its partners with progress reports and meeting every other [censored] day. Sadly 3d realms exploited that and 3d realms rode the coattails of duke nukem 3D into legend.

Nah.... If it came down to it, just one or the other, I'd buy DNF over Skyrim, guaranteed.

@Topic: I would not mind the article, but the video shows they have a sense of humor. Its been done before. Westwood had troubles with it's deadlines in the C&C/Red Alert games, and actually made a video starring one of their characters (Yuri). Yuri invades Westwood studios and threatens them not to screw it up this time.

(*and they missed the deadline too )

I expect at least 20 years of backed up puns and jokes from various shooters in DNF. You also realize its not 18 years worth of game play. Most of that is just scraqed crap from older engines, gear box is just putting a spit shine on a 4 year old turd.

I couldn't agree more. It has to sell itself on its humor because the game play is going to be average at best and that's probably even being too generous.

If they kept even a fraction of what I've seen of it, it will be fine.

It would have to do COD numbers just to break even from years of wasted funds. I want it to do well but because its fun not because its a joke people buy just to say they paid full price for it. That just wont be the case though,I wager 50% of the people who buy it were not even alive when it was announced. Skyrim will be tit for tat better.

I doubt most people who are buying Duke will be 14 years old. It's a game that's pretty much being pushed into M or even AO by default. Because it's Duke.

True enough. And I also think people will be more offended by it in this day and age too. All the sixism and vulgarity. It's like a kid who sniggers every time he hears boobies or something...(sniggers)

Seriously though, I loved Duke back in the day. Now I can see all it's flaws, I don't love it anymore. Never interested me again....(sniggers)

If it is pushed back- I hope not- it should be done by releasing a demo and upgrading the pre-order of any and all forum members (IE- us) to a new and improved super limited edition. and then turns out it was a mistake in marketing and we still get the game on time :D
