Only other RPG game I ever played with a comparable number of races was FFxi (with 5, though people count it as 8 once you separate the genders) and that's an online game. WoW, D&DO, STO, and Ultima all have way more than that. So 10 is plenty for an offline sandbox RPG, and I can't see them justify adding more as playable races. Nor would I want them to merely for the sake of adding more races.

Can I see them adding some as NPCs? Sure, I have no problem with that, and they have done so (on multiple occasions).

I am personally fine with all the current races, but I have to admit that I would like to see Tang Mo. ^_^

Abstaining from Voting. Nothing against a new race that is added well. Personally I could perhaps understand Maormer, 200 years with their Sorcerer King might have driven enough to Tamriel. But We don't really need more elves.

Think of this, your exploring a unmapped area that no one has discovered before, and you come across some village or something, the inhabitants could be hostile and you get knocked unconscious by like a poisoned arrow or something, you wake up all tied up and a creature is questioning you in dragon tongue language, you, being able to talk in dragon tongue, can understand them and you become friends, blah blah blah, they merge with normal population in cities, when you make a new character you can choose from one of these races. The End!

By the way I only played Oblivion and didn't get vary far in it so I don't have much experience in lore or what ever, just brainstorming here.

Tang Mo, please. I'll be perfectly happy with the ten we have...but Tang Mo have always been a race I wished to know more about and play as.

Today I was thinking. And while I think that 10 races is enough... I thought about other way to distribute them, adding some more, in addition.

Men:

- Nords
- Redguards
- Imperials
- Bretons

Mer:

- Dunmer
- Altmer
- Bosmer
- Orsimer

Khajiit:

4 different breeds

Argonian:

(Are there different breeds? I don't know)

Why is it that in the only A-listed RPG franchise that has 10 races to pick, people want more?
Most RPG's only have 3 or 4 races to chose from at most.

I'd rather have them make each race more distinct.

There won't be a new race in Skyrim, except for those added later on by mods. Now, future elder scrolls games may be different. One race we might see in the future is the Imga. Especially, if a future game is set in Valenwood. We might see the Sload if there is a game set in Sumurset Isles, but probably not playable and more like what the Dremora were in Oblivion. A daedric race being added as an officially playable race is possible as well, but probably not in Skyrim, and not without a significant storyline-based reason (say, a different type of Oblivion scenario, probably with a mass exodus from a particular realm where the daedra are fleeing from something terrible. Possible realm: Clavicus Vile. Possible terrible thing: Umbra, or Barbas got infected with rabies)

Now, although I'm not entirely sure, dragons might be implemented as a type of "race" in Skyrim, or at least be distinct from standard creatures. They can talk and are quite intelligent, after all.

I voted yes, only because I didn't have the option to say I don't really care. Sure, more races would be neat--the more there is to choose from, the better. But I am perfectly content having the regular ten. I rarely play anything but a female wood elf or a khajiit, but I would always be willing to try something new. I think an Asian or Oriental type would be cool--I love the look of those races. Such beautiful looking people.

It should be a combination of every other race. Tale of an argonain, snout of a kajit. jk jk
