FCOM without the O

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:23 am

I have Frans, and love it.

but wat i would like is the addition of Warcry's items, and MMM's creatures and creature AI (i.e. the stuff that doesnt make u the centre of the universe anymore). and thats it, none of the other features.

is there a non-complicated way to achieve this without FCOM? i dont like OOO, and to be honest, FCOM seems too daunting to try to get working even if i wanted OOO.

Sorry, but that's not really possible. OOO is the backbone of FCOM and it's only via the latter you can get those to play nicely together.

You can run Fran+MMM, but that's about as far as it goes, I believe.

edit: Also, I feel compelled to add that, especially if you have a handle on using BAIN, installing (and mucking around with) FCOM is a breeze. Just follow the instructions in the OP of the most recent FCOM thread, and maybe check out http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/ for some extra info, tips and so on. But really, with BAIN and the forementioned OP, you'd be set - even if you get something wrong, with BAIN it's *so* easy to undo anything, without having to worry or scrap everything. It makes using Oblivion mods far more pleasant, once you get the hang of it.

This is just a theory, but what you could try is install Fran + MMM for Fran, and WarCry. Now load WarCry as the first mod in your load order, and install Cobl and Item Interchange. I guess you'll lose practically all changes from WarCry, but the new items introduced by WarCry can still be found on enemies and in chests. I don't know if it works, but it might be worth a try.

The patches are going to be found mostly in the MMM download - use the official thread here for the most up to date variants.

Also this page of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17621 is often overlooked - may not have the kind of things you are looking for but related.

Sorry if I ninjad

You need MMM for Frans to run them together, otherwise one of them will override the other. It comes with the MMM download. See the MMM thread for details.

Actually in a previous game I ran a Fran+MMM base with Warcry added. I just installed Warcry and used the FCOM Warcry plugin to bash patch it all together. Not sure about the technical side, but to me it worked quite nicely. I had the monsters and items from Warcry show up once in a while, which is exactly what I wanted.
