Disappointment even before playing.

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:56 pm

That's right. Before I even got into the game I went to get my Spec Ops code from the insert card and low and behold....no code. They literally gave me a blank code card. Its just an empty space where the code should have been (this isn't my first DLC so I know right where to look.)

I've sent in a compliant via the address they give on the card but as of now, no responce. That was earlier this morning so I still have abit of grace for them replying but I was wondering if anyone else encountered this problem?

If anything, maybe a BS memebr will see this and speed the process along to get me the code.

I was mad at first but then just had to laugh sayin "Ya gotta be kidding me."

Anywho...theres my Brink story thus far.

Lucky for you the game's awesome and you'll be a lot happier once you start playing. :D

Sorry though, not sure what to tell you about your problem. Maybe take it back to the store you bought it since it sounds like you got a physical copy.

As far as I've been told, PS3 players don't get the bonuses until PSN's back up. You'll live without it.

Can't wait for the PSN, man it hurts, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

The only code in there was to look at your stats online and they dont even have that set up and working yet. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Your not missing ANYTHING at all, I promise. There is NO EXTRA content.

Actually, after lookng, the code is revealed in game. Was there supposed to be a code for extra content? I didn't get one with my pre-order, if so.

What? No COD references? No "I was so hyped and this was so disappointing!" rants? No insults?

Huh.

There was suppose to be a code in there for the Spec Ops Preorder pack. Its even got the picture of the unloackable items on the card...just no code. These items were like the Gamestop's Doom pack and Amazon's Psycho pack.

What I meant was that PS3 players have to go possibly a month before we get our bonuses. If you email Walmart they should be able to sort it out, so at least you have an idea of how long it will be until you get yours.

The exact same thing happened to me, except is was the Doom pack from GameStop. I'm starting to think this IS somehow SD's fault...

Go back to walmart or wherever you got it from. It's NOT Bethesda OR Splash Damage's fault you didn't get it, it's the RETAILER in CHARGE of handing codes out...

I got my code in tact from Amazon a day after release.

Its kinda hard when you got the item from the online store. But I'll give it a shot.

EDIT: I've discovered BS has updated their support page to accomadate Brink Players, I'm checking into those options now. http://support.gamesas.com/eng/faqs.asp?sid=125040110513097065096138&pid=400001076&pnm=Brink&seid=400002899&pos=Xbox+360

Well I'm now throughly convinced that Walmart is simply its own self aware creature that lives and thrives by self sustaining itself off the souls and clearly the intelligence of those happless twits that work there as they seem to have no sense of brainpower between them.

Honestly, they could just run everything from their online store and fire all those lackys that work there...probably save on drool clean up.

And I still haven't heard from SD or BS when their site clearly says They'll reply in two days tops. Walmart employees are completely clueless as to what they're even offering as products so that was a dead end turn.

Why am I so upset...principle and quality assurance. If you say you're going to include something, you'd better well live up to at least that...your programming could be crude for all I care as long as the basic minimum of a card with a code on it is inserted into the box. I mean really...theres three things that went in that box other than the disc. A Skyrim ad, instruction manual and a code card...you think they could at least realize theres no code on the dang card.

Its just annoying...I'm a big critic on principle and I've done my best all my life to be a man of my word...so, when people say their going to do something, I expect them to do it. So, were's my reply and wheres the bloody code I was promised?

Hey , I kinda had the same problem, i'm from the netherlands so I used Bol.com they said if you pre order brink you will get the Psycho DLC to .. Well I got the game earlier then I thought ( it said it was coming out on 13/05/11) But I got it on 11/05/11 which is nice ofc but when I opened the box I only saw the manual and the CD <.<.

So today I've send an email to them and I'm hoping for the code :)

Well, its been since Friday since I've sent my request in. Still nothing. Not even the simplest, "Hey, got your mail and we're workin on it."

I did everything they requested and not even an acknowlegdment email. I'll be done and tired of this game before I get what was originally promised to me. SD, you've lost a customer.

*Unimpressed Golf Clap*

Well...its now been 6 days since I sent my request for my Spec Ops code that still hasn't come. Not even a responce.

Doesn't matter though, this game litterally has less than 72 hours in my possession. I'm letting a friend borrow it in exchange for the first portal game so I can see how it plays while he sees how bad Brinks gameplay is. I'm sorry but I feel I must be truthful but Ill make a full review here soon.

I'll be getting rid of Brink soon...I did everything SD asked of me (actually didnt scan my game disk but did provide proof of purchase of a new copy and a scan of the blank code card.) Not even a "contact recieved" message.

I have nothing left to do with this game but scrap together a few more achievment points and shake my head in disappointment. So much potential squandered.
