Possible DLC? Or am I just lost

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:26 am

Spoiler
So for anyone who has beaten both campaigns (probably everyone) too short.... anyways, you might have noticed that it changes the ending movies, instead it zooms out from the burning arc, and it shows a cruise ship approaching the arc....Last I heard, there wasnt a moving plane or boat for 20 or so years. Also you hear in the security side of the mission for the airport, that there is an outside world, but in worse shape than the arc and that when contact was made, they tried to find the arc's location by torturing two men. So my theory is that the resistance plane with that Nachiev (bad spelling) guy flying might have found people who are in pursuit of the arc. Or they were already on their way to the arc. Any comments? am i just delusional? or please tell me this means there is more to the story than just 8 lvls! still, those 8 lvls are fun...

At first I thought the boat approaching the Ark was securities. But if I was wrong, I suppose I need to look at it again, it would be very likely that we see this in DLC or a set-up for a possible Brink 2. I don't think they would spend so much time developing the smart system and all the other mechanics of the game if they weren't going to keep going with it.

well if they are making a brink 2, they got a lot to fix, and there is already very little story/plot, so I am not exactly sure what they could add as far as plot goes

Not technically a cruise ship, looks more like a moderate yacht (maybe a bit bigger than the one from Thunderball), which makes me wonder about how poorly off the outside world is.

I also wondered what exactly happened to the navies of the world. At least one DDG ended up as part of the Ark, but what about nuclear and conventional powered aircraft carriers, submarines, etc? Did every nation completely collapse? How much has the world's population decreased from the ~6 billion it is now? The Founders would have the population believe that its Waterworld out there, but, I'm trying to find some images, even if all the ice on the planet melted there'd still be plenty of land. Now, the question is how arable that land would be or how harsh weather might be, but there would be land out there.

i think when they say its in worse conditions they mean revolts and wars

also if you watch the tv it shows chen and the security guy on there

yea so if they are watching chen and the security guy, then i would think its someone from the outside world with an interest in ther arc, but it would make more sense if the boat is from the arc and just returning

Think about it though just cause they have a yacht does not mean they were the original owners. They could have found it, or stolen it.

That yacht looked like it was from the ARK, it could have been someone from the ARK driving it, there are boats there, mostly used by the security.

The new DLCs will surely just be maps from the ARK, the 8 maps we have now are only small areas of the ARK, there is ALOT more space there for new maps.

And i do think any sequel will take place on land or some such, because in a audio diary, chen explains that
Spoiler
the "Arkola" that the ARK is built with and what keeps it aflot is slowly dying, and any day now the ARK could sink

Based on that, they must be getting to new land or something, even tho
Spoiler
the founders made contact with the outside world and there men were tortured and were forced to reveal the ARK's location, which forced them to move the ARK
they still can't stay on the ARK if it is in this condition.

Spoiler
The outside world is indeed, in worse condition. There is very little fertile land, because most of the fertile land was near the water, and that land is now UNDER the water.
so the outsiders will be wanting the ARK's tech, like their wind mills, solar panels, water treatment facilitys, power plants, etc.

In a way, each faction wins at the end of the war in some way, and the outcome may be very similiar.
Spoiler
If the resistance's plane makes its way to land and reveal the location of the ARK, they may invade the ARK in an attempt to take it over. if the security saves the ARK, they may find out sooner or later that the arkola is dying and will have to go force themselves onto land, invading the outsiders.

This is the way i see it at least.
