Why is Be More Objective 2 star so hard?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:07 pm

I'm a level 14, and I've finished both campaigns. I'm really loving this game. I''ve done every other challenge except be more objective, any tips? The enemy AI is brutal

its either the enemy is to hard ":which i don't think" or "our ai team mates are useless'" <----- this i believe!! you get no support at all. i have gotten to the hack box and hacked it so i can grab the suitcase inside multiple times, and after that i get NO help from my team mates at all!!! I want my speed sling lol... now i know that you cant unlock the sling if you go online but what if we create a private room and invite ppl in, can you unlock it that way?

the AI's difficulty is determined by what level your character is , so easiest way to get thru it is make a new character and play thru that way......

Sadly this^^^

The game is not properly balanced at higher Ranks so you need to be using a Rank 1-2 character if you want to have a shot at finishing it alone. If you accidently level up too much and find Rank 2 too hard (level 5+) simply reset your skills points to delevel your character down to level 4.

Only problem is, you unlock the leaderboards with this alternative character, not the high level character.

Thats a stupid idea, everything you unlock with one character you unlock for all them, so just make a new character, complete the challenge, and go back to your old character and it will be unlocked

Ugh, I never said that you couldn't use a new character, merely pointed out that you can delevel a character if they get too high in rank. Also, the post that I was quoting already mentioned using a new character so there was no need to restate it. Thanks for taking my post out of context and then calling my idea stupid.

Only problem is, you unlock the leaderboards with this alternative character, not the high level character.

If you are really having this much trouble finishing the challenges then the leaderboards are probably the last thing that you are worried about.

I've nearly broke down crying doing this with a light. It's frustrating how useless your teammates are.

If you de-level a character, you lose stuff that you've unlocked.

I got my very first character to lvl 20 and unlocked The Anger and The Freak. But I'd bought the Scavenge skill, and I never used it so I de-leveled to get another skill point... and The Anger and The Freak outfits both got locked again on all my characters. Just be careful of that.

Anyway, I re-did this challenge just yesterday with my alt, so the process is still fresh in my mind...

  • You're going to want to create a new character, use one you haven't played with much yet. Do Be More Objective 1*, then go straight to 2*.
  • Run straight for the HE Charge and plant it instantly, and even though the enemies catch you up, there's a good chance they won't incap you before you finish planting... if they manege to incap you at all. Hide around the corner from the enemies, keeping an eye on your charge and letting rip on an Engineer if they come close.
  • As soon as it's blown, change to 'Neer and sprint back towards your spawn and take the stairs up to the second floor with the repair objective. Hopefully the enemies will only manage to get there by the time you're past halfway done repairing, at that point it's just about taking down the guys who get right in your face, and letting your allies draw the fire of the others.
  • Drop down and swap to Operative, try to sprint to sprint and plant the Hackbox ASAP. Start hacking, and then run back to your Command Post's cage and hide in there - you still get 100% reception/signal strength, and enemies are less likely to come after you. If they do start coming around, just run to your allies. You may be killed, have to fire, or it may be disarmed, just keep trying. Be a little reckless.
  • From there, uploading the data is fairly easy if you take the same staircase as the repair objective, I usually only come across one bot up there and they're fairly easy to take 1 on 1.

Why would I run all the way back to my spawn when I can just climb up the boxes.. or maybe that's not possible for mediums?

For me:

Heavy body type. Use mini gun and AR.

1. Rush the 1st objective, and plant, make sure its gets planted. If not restart. Use grenade and molotav respectively.
2. rush to the next, throw grenades, hide be hind the cover provided, and use the MINIGUN!!!! once no enemies on in the vacinity, repair! and do it in bursts, or you can try all at once.
3. this one is a b**ch. use your caltrop grenades and try to get disguised. plant the hack box quickly and then go behind a box decently far away. (Might take a while.)
4. nothing too hard, get the briefcase and head on up. make sure you buff your health and make sure the coast is clear. my allies helped quite a bit w/ buffs. but once the coast is clear, plant that s**t.
5. MISSION COMPLETE B) :chaos: :disco: :mohawk: :goodjob: :toughninja: :flamethrower: :celebration:

That's what I did. It worked for the 3 star version too.

Don't be afraid to die, you have plenty of time, if you fail, just try again..but be sure to completely exhaust your time limit prior to giving up. I see no point in re-rolling a char, your more than capable of completing each task. I too was around your level when I tried for two star (In fact at first I didn't even realize that is how you unlock weapon upgrades... kept wondering when I would finally get one!) (( Keep in mind, the AI of the campaign performs no differently than the AI of those given missions, if you were able to over come them in the campaign, you can do it again there.

Anyhow, like others mentioned, always charge up and plant your explosive asap, as after the AI has a foot hold on the corner it's a lot more difficult. From there it's a lot of free running, you might have to stop mid process of completing the other objectives to take down 3-5 enemies, once you've cleared them out continue with the objective. Sprint and slide, a lot* it can get you down out of sight.. which thank god for terrible short term memory of the AI, soon as they loose sight of you they carry on with their given objective. (( if they didn't, human players wouldn't stand much of a chance, as the AI puts two to the head, and one to the chest pretty quick))

I am a person who did it pretty easily the first time through but haven't been able to repeat it as easily.
My thought is that sometimes the Bots are just bad, its a programming thing that isnt attributed to any sort of rank or level. I was one of the lucky ones who got easy bots the first time I tried it. Since then I tried it again with a different character of the same level (lvl10) and it was extremely hard and took 2+ hours to beat.

Kudos to everyone who beat it with hard bots.

Same here.

But yeah, if you're having problems make another character and begin the challenges immediately, level 1. Works like a charm. If you already have a high level char you can use all the attachments you've unlocked on your level 1's weapons it's pretty funny.

Someone mentioned that the opposition might actually have a numerical advantage over your side as well. In which case, I can understand why your bots are seemingly worthless, they're just losing the battle of attrition.

Dunno, never tried it, the stairs were just the safer option.

do a forum search, this has been mentioned loads of times. i have given tips to make it easy quite a few times...

basically, you can hack round the corner - you dont need to be right infront of it. you can stand in the booth where the com post is.

then you need to learn the routes up the building, there are a few that avoid many enemy. if you know the best routes this challenge is very easy

Every single time I try to hack from around the corner in the command the bots flank me and my team just sits there. During this an engineer kills the hackbox.
