[REL]The Other Spheres: Prelude

Woah, totally missed this.

Anyway, it would be nice to see a compatibility patch for this with Open Cities.

And, for those of you who have played the quest, when would you recommend the quest be played through? During the Oblivion Crisis, or after?

What exactly is this quest about? any short synopsis - all I see are credits.

Is it geared for good/evil/neutral characters (how good do you have to be)?

It is described as the start of something larger - does that mean that at the end there are tons of dangling loose ends that lead to nothing.

Not knowing these answers has kept me from even looking into this.

I've played and very much enjoyed The Other Spheres: Prelude. I'm not sure about making a recommendation about when to play it though. I myself played it after the Oblivion Crisis and in my opinion it would probably make more sense then, but I would imagine it's not necessary.

It is very interesting! And well worth a play-through if even just to see all of the fantastic works by Elim.

Yeah but was it is about?

Ok so no answers on the level timing, but what about scope and does it have an end?

well a bit neutralish... it is basically Telvanni in the far eastern edge of Cyrodiil - and as anyone who has played MW knows the Telvanni aren't persay evil but they are a bit short on the morals department... I'd say it was fine for anyone really.

You do get to find out that Falanu Hlaalu (alchemist in Skingrad) is a total nutjob - especially in her taste for boyfriends.

there are loose ends but not too much IMO; you get to climb partway up the ranks of House Telvanni for one thing, but really I don't feel that you should be able to be grandmaster (or whatever) of every guild/house there is so that's fine with me... it'd be nice to have somenew quests continuing but not really essential IMO.
EDIT: as for timing I'd aggree with Lilith - makes more sense after the main quest but should work fine before (I only played it after so can't say for 100% certain). Also for player level... I played it last with hmm 26 IIRC; relatively (okay very) easy battles - but it's been a while.

Go to the Market District in the IC and there's a new vendor in the streets. Talk to him.

I did. Other than the option to buy mushrooms, nothing happened.

I bought them all. No new dialogue options. I used bribe to get his disposition up. Still nothing.

I dusted off another save game with lots fewer quest mods and main quest completed. This time I had no problem starting, so my issue has to be a mod conflict. I'll go with the one I'm using now to play through this.
