Friends!

I'm planning on making many friends. Then, once they let me stay in their house for the night, i'll wait for them to sleep to rob their house. hehehe...

i love the idea of having proper friends in the game, it can feel lonely at times playing elder scrolls games. It all depends on if it is properly implemented though, i hated the conversation wheel mini game in oblivion, it killed the immersion for me. I am hoping they have looked at how rockstar approached this in gta iv and maybe pinched a couple of idea's from that. Only time will tell i suppose. I am always a good character for the most part anyway (i left the thieves guild and dark brotherhood quests until the very end of oblivion, after i had done pretty much everything else) so i will probably try and make lots of friends in Skyrim. I would also love it if you could play some sort of board game or card game or some such with your friends in Skyrim, or even a game like archery with a proper scoring system etc. I mean the best thing about fable 2 was the pub games IMO. Thoughts?

I'm dissappointed. I hoped for something more violent.

Well, i could always kill them after I stole everything but i'm just curious to know how my "friends" will react after finding out I stole all their valuables

I'm going to keep a small but close knit bunch of friends, what I would like to see is, early on in the game is to be looking for shelter and to be offered a place by a kind couple, maybe they have a son or daughter. It would be nice to have an attachment to someone for showing you kindness for no apparent reason. See them from time to time as I pass through and catch up on things, and as I gradually get stronger and the game carries on, a quest regarding the couple or maybe their child appears forcing me to deal with a moral quest. Like, the husband may be having an affair and you come across his bastard love child. Something that might not be all hack and slash.

I'd like to see something like that happen.

Also, I at least intend to have a trusty but pessimistic Nord companion to travel with.

Well you know what that say; keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

I like the idea of having friends/ companions too. In RPG games I like to have friends and such as it can get a little boring to be by myself the whole time. In the same instance, I think that we should be able to make enemies. Maybe something similar to Dragon Age......?

If you can make friends like this in Skyrim, I'll probably just use it to get discounts from shops

I love the idea of friends in Skyrim. I want to be able to be buddies with a merchant or mercenary in town.

I already have been roleplaying friends in Oblivion. Like the "Steel and Fire" store in Chorrol's owner. Her disposition is 100 towards me and we share jokes and tales all the time.

Even anti-social people have some friends/enemies, no?

This is one of those things that I find odd. People will not say that befriending NPC is sad, but romance with an NPC is? What's the difference?

Yes, I'd be excited to see friendships implemented in some fashion.

I believe there's no such thing as 'sad' when it comes to video games. I want both friendships and romance and I don't think it's sad at all, I don't need them for me as I already have friends and wife, I need them for the depth of my role playing.

Is that NPC really your friend? No, but you want them to be your character's friend because it would make you feel more apart of the world/makes your character to feel more real.

Are you really in love with that NPC. No, but you'd want that romance to make you feel more apart of the world/makes your character feel more real.

It's the same difference, why the disconnect?
