Spell cast %

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:15 am

just wondering, is the percentage chance for a spell to work dependant on the amount of fatigue points you currently have or the percentage of current fatigue points over max?

for example, if two people are both 50 in illusion, one with 200 fatigue, one with 300, and they both have max fatigue, will they have the same chance at casting the spell or will the one with 300 have the higher chance? also, if the one with 300 max only has 200 when he casts the spell, do they have the same chance or the does the person with max of 300 but only 200 at that time have a worse chance?

Chance = 1.25 [ 2*magic skill + Willpower/5 + Luck/10 - cost ] [ 1 - .4 ( MF - AF ) / MF ]

Where MF = Max Fatigue and AF = Actual Fatigue

Thus, in your example, the one with 200 out of 300 will have less of a chance. i.e. 1 - .4 (300 - 200)/300 = ~.868

(However, still using your example, if the left hand part of the equation comes out greater than 115, both will still have a 100% chance of success).
