Second playthrough, so I can absorb all of the new features and what not that New Vegas brings.

Wondering where to find food, water and shelter is all a part of the real post-apocalyptic experience, and the fear of death by real-life causes will only serve to immerse me more.

P.S. I'll be going hardcoe for my first playthrough. A few months ago, I beat Dead Space for the first time using only a plasma cutter, and I'll beat New Vegas using only a stapler and real-world adrenaline, 'cause I'm a bad, bad man.

We need more "will you do hardcoe" polls, I've only voted in 5 of them now.

Without question, 1st playthrough. Playing it on my 2nd just so I'll know where everything is defeats the whole purpose of hardcoe Mode.

I'll start on very hard hardcoe mode for the first playthough

also I'll remove the [EMPTY] tag from containers and I'll make it that weapons have 100% chance of failing to reload because of low durability

I'll also increase all NPC and enemies's HP by 50%

oh and I'll set HUD transaprency to 100%

let's see who can be more masochist.

How about you have one life only? You die, you have to start a new game. That is the most masochist you can get I believe.

First and everytime probably. I used to end up with hundreds of stimpacks spare in FO3 and it was too easy on very hard once I had a few skills maxed.
hardcoe mode will be harder and it will also make the game last EVEN longer which is another great thing about it since I wont want the game to end.

When I think of the dehydration part I can just picture the thirsty begger outside rivet city who I used to test out my new weapons on ... now I will be the one begging for water

I'm playing hardcoe my first playthrough and all playthroughs. I have a feeling that if I don't do hardcoe the first time I won't ever do it.

It's actually going to be on my 4th playthrough.
I want the chance to enjoy every faction, and to enjoy their point of view on things. I don't want hardcoe to make me enjoy it less, when all I can think about is surviving with water and food.

i agree full heartily with this doing it the first time and not knowing where stuff is will be incredibly tense and fun if i already know where stuff is then it stops being fun and more or less tedious and annoying

i guess many people dont know hardcoe mode can be activated with any difficulty settings?

I will use ist on first playtrough together with normal difficulty setting.
I like this feature and i'm shure hardcoe mode will make the game more interesting, thanks obsidian for this cool idea!

I am curious for people who say they will play the 2nd time in hardcoe, wouldn't this be a cheat? I mean you will know where everything is, so doesn't it sort of defeat the purpose of having a hard core mode? It was already mentioned from one person who said this. He will know where all the stuff is, so he can go and find the free loot or what ever this person likes.

So why play hardcoe mode, if you know those stimpacks or doctor pack is over there. I can avoid this place over here, I will not go there. So playing hardcoe mode the 2nd time is agaisnt the point if you know what will happen or where everythig is.

1st time.

Fallout 3 was way too easy anyway. I like the realism on hardcoe mode it gives me a challenge, and when I'm challenged I stay interested. I tried the realism mods for F3, but I honestly didn't like them that much and since hardcoe mode has been developed into NV I'm sure it's much more stable.

I probably didn't put more than 50 hours into Fallout 3 simply because it was oversimplified and way too easy. I have the game of the year edition which includes all DLC, and I never even touched Point Lookout or Mothership Zeta, had no motivation too.

Hell yeah. Call of Pripyat was much better than Clear Sky. All though I did miss the faction wars... That had so much potential. :cryvaultboy:

eh? You're not going to be seeing everything, much less remember it all, on the first play through.

For me I could get through the entire FO3 game and use less than 20 stimpacks. Munched tons of food and drank lots of water for health, so hardcoe isn't going to be a huge departure for me. Players that spamed hot keyed stimpacks in battle will get more of a challenge from it.

I don't know. I'm leaning toward on my second playthrough, or at least once I test out the difficulty, but I may just go gung ho and do it the first time. The problem I see with that is that once you've played through in hardcoe mode, it seems that normal mode would seem way easier after that. Then again, subsequent playthroughs in FO3 were always easier anyway. Decisions, decisions...

First time, other wise I'll be too used to not needing water and keep forgetting to bring it with me.

I'm in the same boat as you
