This may not be a bug, but as designed, but it looked weird to me.

I stole many items at the NCR compound. These items do not come up in my inventory when selling to anyone. Is this like Oblivion where items that are stolen cant be sold to the same merchants? If so, than i wish i could tell what items were stolen in my Pipboy inventory, like the items name was in red or something, instead of having to empty all the items on the floor and then try an pick them up (hopefully not getting caught in the process.)

Ye, if you steal the items from merchant bob's warehouse, you cannot sell them back to him, you must go to merchant eddie....

Is it actually in your inventory. I had two cases in picking up an item I already had one of and the second just disappeared from the game.

Yea, i had that happen too. I dropped the stolen one on the ground and then was promptly shot at and killed in the NCR base. I dropped it again. I also stole a Pot for some quest that needs a Pot at Camp McCarran, and the game said i didnt have all the things i needed. Im going back tonight and seeing if stolen items work with that quest, might be the problem right there, as designed.

Thats a "bug".
You need 2 pots to repair the oven...even though just one is used...
