Hey all,

not sure if this is possible but could something like this be done in game with the console. If not can it be scripted in?

From the UESPWiki - Console commands.

showracemenu

Change Race/Appearance

WARNING: Using this menu will reset all of your skills to their default initial settings. (If you edit your race, instead of clicking "done" when you are done, leave the race menu open with the console up and save your game. When you reload it your race/looks will be changed like you wanted them to be and your skills will not be reset.) Using this command while wearing bound items may crash the game.

I'm aware you can change our player's race I was wondering if you could change the race and appearance of npcs in game.

OK, humor us. Why "in-game"?

You mean NPCs not the player character? I do not think you can change NPCs in game without a mod that changes specific NPCs.

Well changing appearances in the cs is a pain. Seems like it's pretty easy to do for the player, wasn't sure if we could find a way to do it for npcs as well.

Sorry. Completely missed "npc" in the topic title.

There's dozens of mods available to change the appearance of NPC's. Here are just two.

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16843 makes the citizens of Tamriel more "beautiful" and then http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8261 adds scars, tats, zits, etc. to them.
