Hi. I recently bought my new computer choosing the components, so I wanted to ask you if it was a good choice.
Intel i7 960
Msi Gtx 460 Hawk
4Gb RAM
And the motherboard is the most basic of 1366 socket.
But the truth is, that i've got two doubts:
-Would have been better to buy the 950 instead of the 960? Will i feel the difference?
-The same question with the socket 1555 and the 2600 cpu.
Thanks for all!
1st... why would you buy the parts, and then ask us if it was a good choice? You should've asked us first then go and buy the parts.
Dont mean to blow my own trumpet, but I'm a computer servicer :]
1. Why would you get a 960? You should've got a 920 or 930 then overclock. There's no difference, apart from the fact that the 960 is more expensive.
2. Either way, you shouldve gotten a 1155 socket anyway, and gotten an I5 2500k, or an i7 2600k if you want the quickest one of the socket.
3. Im assuming the ram is about ddr3 1333mhz, there is a big difference between 4gb of ddr1 200mhz ram and 4gb of ddr3 2133mhz ram.
4. Good choice on the card though, the GTX 460/470 is THE best value gaming card ATM, and hawk model cooling is very good. Although the processor is a little overkill, maybe think about a 2nd GTX?
As a conclusion, at 1400x900 that should run skyrim max without any problems at 35+ constant FPS, although we have yet to see a trailer that REALLY showcases the graphics.
