Going legion faction as female char?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 4:27 pm

I've been hearing through a lot of the dialogue options that females are treated as slaves by the Legion. Just curious, what are the limitations placed on a female character that chooses to help Caesar's Legion as compared to a male character? No quest or ending spoilers or anything please, just general info. Thanks.

You can't fight in the arena. That's all I've heard.

It's generally a big no-no to differentiate genders in computer games. It's a game mechanic, so the player has the opportunity to roleplay without having to be "punished" in-game due to the gender they choose.

Yeah, that is WHY you should be punished, "Err I wish to roleplay a woman and help a faction who uses and enslaves women" you role play in a pre set world, the world tells you women are cattle to the legion and as such you should be cattle... this isn't a spoiler because I have no idea but if I finish the game and don't get beaten over the head and chained up for not knowing my place something is definitely wrong, I played a female character just to see if they did the right thing by this

It would be pretty bad if it did, becuase you have no warning when you create your character.

You can still go Legion if you're a woman - they don't have much choice at the beginning of the quest chain, since you're the only person allowed to go see House.

Thanks. I'm almost completely done with the game on my good/neutral male save, and I wanted to see if in another playthrough there would be different responses and opportunities depending on gender kind of like in Fallout 2.

generally, you can' do much for the Legion. However, like has been said, once you see House (and better still, deal with House lol) then both the Legion and NCR send reps around to ask you to join them.

This is probably going to be my only legion char (I hate them) so looks like I'm going male for it. Don't want to miss out on the arena.

I was irked I missed out on the arena, but from what I hear there's almost nothing to it. My female Legion supporter encountered no other issues. Though a lot of guys would hassle her when she walked by.

Still, going with a male character is probably a good idea.
