I just bought the game, installed it, but when i start the game it closes at the logo screen and says "Morrowind encountered a problem and needs to close" this happens every time i try. Please help??

Do you really think there is enough information there for anybody to give any effective advice?

Are you running lots of mods?
Do you have any expansions installed?
Are you running any 'optimisation' programs like MWSE or MGE?
Is your computer rubbish?
Are you running other programs at the same time?
Do you have the cd in?
Are you running the game/account as an administrator?
Do you like turtles?

Your loadorder and the contents of warnings.txt is very useful information to begin with so please post it.

When you use the launcher try setting the options first from there such as screen resolution and the data files you want to play with eg tribunal and Bloodmoon, then exit and try launching from the MW.exe - I get this problem sometimes when trying to start the game form the launcher - however starting from the mw.exe normally gets me into the game
