OK so I have been doing some quests for the Boomers and managed to get 'Accepted' status with them. Then I decided to do some of the main quest, so I killed Benny, pvssyd with Yes Man as I want an independent Vegas, started talking to him about tribes and told him they I am familiar with both the Boomers and Omertas and so I want them to be ignored. Does this mean I will not be able to have the Boomers assistance or the Omertas? I've gone on to kill Mr. House and install Yes Man onto House's computer, so is having their assistance no longer a possibility?

Also, where do I go next if I want an independent Vegas, do I go to Cottonwood cove, or do I travel around getting the other tribes to like me? Thanks for any answers.

He asks which tribes you wish to keep from eradication. You meet them, and if you wish to ignore them, you tell him so, if not, i believe he just obliterates them with bots.
