I just recently finished watching "The Thing" for like the 20th time (Great classic btw.) and there's a part where they go in this underground snow cave where they try to find Blair and...Well watch the movie!

Anyways, when they were down there, this idea hit me; Why not instead of just rocky caves for your average dungeon, why not change it up a bit and add some snow/ice caves? And I mean completely snowed walls/ceiling, etc. I think that'd be pretty cool! And maybe you'll find an ancient chest that's inside an ice block, and you have to push the iceblock into a beam of sunlight from overhead to melt it :flamethrower:

Either way, since it is in Skyrim, I don't want my cave dungeons to be just rocky...I want snow! I want the traps to be icicles that fall down and kill you! I want to actually feel cold when I enter these chilly places.

Thoughts/Opinions? Discuss! (I tried looking for threads like this, but found none, so no complaining! :nono: )

different types of caves!!!!

limestone caves (smooth)
volcanic rock with jaged rocks caves...
rocky caves...
dirt caves

the above 3 but wet...
the above 3 but with icicles
the above 3 but with spider webs
the above 3 but with cool mushrooms

also- lore wise there are a group of vampires that live under lakes- it would be fantastic to have caves entirely made of ice, and have a spell that allows the player to pass through ice as if it where water

with this i also want dwemer ruins, daedric ruins of various sorts, old forts and dungeons - i want all of these to look like they were lived in

Given the area it's in, I'd be surprised not to see glacial ice caves.

Snow/ice caves?

Just think of the Wampa cave from Star wars.

I would love some snow/ice caves. The Ice Cavern in OOT is one of my all time favs.

I'd expect some to be present in Skyrim, too.

As long as not all the quests take place underground...And hopefully we'll have breakable ice sheets.

The thing is the greatest movie. In Bloodmoon they had caves made entirely of ice. Im sure they will have stuff like that. Look at the screenshot at the beginning of the time lapse art video.
