FO3 Trailer vs FONV trailer

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 5:13 pm

I watch both all the time. I cant help to think that if someone was deceiding to buy FO3 or FONV and base it off the trailer (which many people do in decesions on games believe it or not, my dad for example) That the FONV trailer doesn't seem as good as FO3's.

I'm not trying to rant on anything just a thought so keep the flaming to yourself.

You might understand what i mean if you watch them back to back.

Fallout 3 Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYZpR51XgW0

Fallout New Vegas Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-x-1fm2cq8

Take into account newer isn't always better.

For xbox users take Gears Of War 1 and Gears Of War 2 for example.

Gears 1 - Amazing

Gears 2 - Amazingly Bad.

Post your thoughts.

:flamethrower: No flaming please. :flamethrower:

I like the start of the Fallout 3 trailer but not so much the end, I like all of the New vegas trailer.

I'm upset by the lack of "Live action" trailers ....I know Fallout 3 was a "introduction" to some people but the mock 50's advertisemants with rayguns were far more awesome than New Vegas ones....

I gotta say, I like NV. Don't get me wrong, Fallout 3 is my favorite game ever. However NV will probably take that seat and bump FO3 down to #2.

Absolutely the Fallout 3 trailer. I love it, especially the scene when it cuts to the Super-Duper Mart advert and you realise what the world has become.

I have to say that as a trailer, the Fallout 3 trailer is better (barring the awkward acted part in the beginning), though I don't consider either a particularly "Fallouty" trailer as both lack a certain tone that I associate with Fallout.

Oh and I like NV trailer more.
I hate trailers that don't show gameplay, and while the FO3 one did show some it was far less than NV.

Agreed. The whole fake 50's commercial was okay but nothing compared to gameplay.

If I had to choose between the two trailers, knowing nothing about Fallout, I would choose Fallout 3's. It seems to me that Bethesda knew New Vegas would be able to ride the coattails of Fallout 3's success, whereas with Fallout 3 they really had to prove themselves, hence why Fallout 3's trailer seems more appealing to your average gamer. With New Vegas they could just say "Remember that massively successful game Fallout 3 that won dozens of awards? Yeah, here's a new follow-up to that, commence drooling," while with Fallout 3 they couldn't do that.

Exactly my thoughts.

Just get over it?

If your not going to post about the Trailers then go post your own forum about me.

Really? Your lucky me and Gabriel are telling you this. We're simply giving you advise. If a mod was telling you this and you talked to them like that, you would be on warning two of three.

This is not about the games but it is about the trailers. I thought that the FO3 trailer was more original than the FONV trailer and I liked it the most. As for comparing the two games we just have to wait and see.

Well it was unique to say the least, so it was nice to watch.
But still, yeah I like gameplay trailer better.

Yeah. It was different from anything I ever saw. Bethesda always had a thing for being different. Thats why we love 'em.

I honestly like the New Vegas trailer better, the "cut to TV" thing was already done in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqiMS_0yto8.
Now I guess it's a cool Homage, but I just love that little eyebot, truckin' on towards his goal.

I have deleted 17 posts from this topic. There are somethings you guys need to take note of -

Read the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/, everything is in there and it saves a moderator post like this one.

You need to stop playing at moderators, it makes the situation worse. If you have a problem with a post or a topic, click the "report" button and let one of us deal with it.

Don't keep taking a thread off topic, it is pointless and spammy and ends in problems - as this did.

Now, discuss the topic please and keep it cool. OK?
