There could be many different reasons...

It's probably safe to say we're not going to get that lobby system either, but I would just focus on what is great about the game, and not what is so glaringly missing. Plus, try to make good use of Fireteams.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that splash damage isnt going to put a lobby system. The community has [censored]ed so much about it that they just cant turn a blind eye

I honestly want to hear what SD's thoughts were on this point. I hope they say something about why they felt it sufficient to not include a lobby system. The logistics of it just don't make sense. You've got a team based objective shooter and you can't form a party to move from game to game with before searching for a game?

I love Brink to death, but it really doesn't make any sense.

Two things are missing and they are essential for a MP today. We have kind of two groups playing. The one squading up and going for a game so a Lobby would be needed to do so and we have the ones getting online and going straight to jump in a game. So you take your class jump into a game and realize that there are 4 other engis running around. Now you have to play with your engi or you can change your class being not as helpful due to missing abilities. The result, both groups can`t play like they are used to.

Taking an educated guess, I reckon it was part of SD's attempt to integrate the single-player with multi-player... no lobbies - you join and leave as you please with a trusty AI Bot taking your place until the next human player comes along.

Fair play to the devs, sounds great... if only the AI Bots would work as well as human players, then it would have been the breakthrough in SP/MP integration they were talking about.

***EDIT*** - I think SD assumed that Fire Teams would work as good as a lobby, but of course, you need to get your friends into the same game for it to work.

I agree if they did turn a blind eye they would loose alot of followers of there games and loose alot of respect. The multiplayer aspect of Brink right now is very lackluster. You can never get into an even match or one with actual full player 8v8 teams. I know it isn't because not enough people have the game it has to be the matchmaking system. On top of this when it isnt putting you in uneven matches or games about to end it puts you in your own room in which no one else ever joins so you get to play through campaign all over again

The whole system how it is now is not good at all.

If the host of the match leaves a game and you are in their Fire Team, then they have to re invite you just to group up again.

You can't change any of your weapon attachments without leaving the group.

You can't change your character between matches without leaving the group.

The invite system(on PS3) is slow and clunky and a lot of the times, just doesn't work because by the time you try to invite friends, other people have joined and it will will say that the group is full.

If you try to join a friend from the list, you can't even click their name.

I'm not sure if the whole system needs just a minor tweak or a complete overhaul.Either way,it really needs to be fixed, and fast!

Aside from that,I really do love the game.

That was the point of the game.
You prepare yourself for battle and you have a SET character.
It's not like you can randomly become fat in real life...

I agree with the party system, but the rest of it doesn't need to be there.
I like the fact that I have to set my strategy before going into a match :P

Wow, you are so jaded. You think just because it doesn't have one little thing that most games don't have (i can only think of CoD that actually DOES) that it svcks.

Why not? I hear many people over the internet shouting for realism in video games :P

And it would make the game a bit easier if you added the option of changing everything during a match :P
That's not necessarily a good thing, now is it?

Changing characters between levels makes it easier. You wouldn't have to leave the game, switch a character and then join your friend. Your spot could be taken when you leave.

I guess there's a point being that you are playing consecutive missions, but I'm just looking at the fun factor vs the story logistics.I understand if you running solo, but in a group, you should be able to change only between matches.Same goes for attachments.
