15 Vs 1.

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:11 am

The incompetence of the friendly bots causes them to almost never actively help with main objectives but ALWAYS passively hinder me with winning. It's more like 15 vs 1 to me on single player. One team of 8, one team of 7 and one team of 1(me).

Hmm, well I'm sorry you feel that way, that sounds rather discouraging..

What I can offer up is this:

In order for the AI to complete primary objectives, you really need to be over the top aggressive. This will afford the friendly AI the time to get to the objective zone, set up defenses, and do an ok job at holding, provided you continue your aggressive onslaught. My characters are all class specific, and I never swap to complete an objective. So being a light medic, or operative can sometimes be difficult.. however it seems holding back because of the thought of getting owned really provided nothing. But just charging in guns blazing, sometimes works wonders-- Raw aggressive behavior. Slide often, and brake the line of sight as often as you can by moving in and out of cover. You'll find you will live more often then not.

Play on Easy, the enemies die a lot faster, and it takes them a bit longer to get a beed on you, and begin to fire. I think it's all around more fun as well... just dropping enemies left and right. There is not a noticeable xp drop by playing on easy (usually feels like a gain), which bring me to the conclusion difficulty has no effect on xp. Only on 1) how much damage the bots receive 2) how long it takes them to aim, and fire at you.

If your using the Medium body type, the standard weapon load out is actually one of the best in the game. Put the COGA on the AR and one of the flex sights on the SMG. While using your AR from a distance, just tap the fire button two or 3 times per enemy and watch them drop. Only pull your SMG when you are expecting to be relatively close with the enemy or out of primary ammo, it is far superior in close combat. Just aim at the chest, and empty your mag.

I think some of these tips will help you a long your journey, now get in there and show um what your made of!

ED: Also, sometimes if you just follow the larger group of bots (say, as a medic) and really watch your fellow bots, they really don't perform badly. Keep in mind the defending team always has better viability of the enemy than the attacking team, so... since were speaking of AI... and defending AI spots, targets, and fires on the attacker, in say... 1 second... and the attacking AI spots, targets, and fires on the defender in 1 second... obviously the defending team has a large advantage.. AI vs AI just due to the simple fact they see the attacker prior to being seen.

I've already got 10 different build in various stages of completion and various combination of classes. I like to play on normal. I am very aggressive, depending on my class. You can't tell me the AI isn't incompetent. Why is it enemy bots will bootstomp downed opponents to ensure no resurrection but friendly bots will not do the same? Nope sorry. The friendly bot AI is chaotic to the point of being broken. I'm just hoping they fix it soon.

True that. Terminate all medics with extreme predjudice.

I have encountered the enemy AI double medic spamming. Furthermore at higher levels, the worst thing you can do in SP is alow a self-healing medic to go un-bootstomped.

+1 to that right there............ terminate the enemy medics with great prejudice in SP campaign mode.

The AI's in SP campaign mode are somewhat incoherant and can be frustrating at times especially at the higher levels, but like Heltah explained that the need for aggressive attack on the enemy and taking the initiative on the objectives is paramount and half the fun :)

I've completed a lot of the levels with different characters with varying abilities that are a heavy build and I use the Chinzor MG as primary weapon and either the Bulpdaun SMG for secondary weapon.. or if i feel like some close combat excitement, a Mossington Shotgun stops the enemy in there tracks.

The only improvements i'd really like to see with the online gameplay is a lobby to meet and organise battles and also some bluetooth communications between players.

Just wait until SD flick the switch on the A.I... then threads consisting of ''A.I is over powered'' will start to surface, it just takes some tweaks.

I just want an AI that isn't half [censored]. There are times when I want to be a soldier and not have to hack a box because I know that the AI is completely useless in covering my back.

The AI in this game is as stupid as blue dots in MAG at times.

How many people need to take over a command post?I've witnessed 3 bots doing this instead of actually jumping into the fray.

When playing solo, there really needs to be a command structure to the game so that you can tell the bots were to go,what to do,and what is needed.

AI is pretty decent considering how often I get my ass kicked. The game is hard because they tone done the friendly AI a metric [censored] ton so you have a harder fight ahead of you. Its not a tactic I agree with, but everyone here thinks the AI is just bad in general, when in reality its not all that terrible.

Try not being the most needed class. The A.I. actually does the work if you clear the way for them, they just don't like running straight to the objective through enemies.

I was playing with a friend who was trying the game out (my other friend had him on his system) and we were attacking shipyard. Neither of us were engineers so we just did the side objectives and kept the enemy A.I. on it's heels and our A.I. engineers completed the crane quite quickly. Then we swept through the hack section where I hacked and he defended and the A.I. picked up the slack.

Some days they're good, some days they're not. I often wonder if the different names have different skills because the "bad" A.I. is not consistant.

Holy Freaking Cow. I really want to curse right now. I'll tell you for a fact the AI is so crappy the friendlies passively act AGAINST You. Just finished up the Resistance missions for one of my characters. Now I'm going through the Security missions. The AI was so crappy I-and I mean only ME, MYSELF AND I-was successful in setting a charge on the door with less than a minute to spare. Began to escort the pilot to the exit and got into a fire fight in the lounge area with the command post. I was behind a box picking off Resistance. One of the stupid frigging bots actually got between me and the wall and PUSHED ME OUT INTO ENEMY FIRE! I was hit and would have been incapacitated if I didn't duck down and go around the stupid bot. WTF! Needless to say I almost got the pilot out but I ran out of time because I was trying to cover the pilot but I was shot in the back about 50 ft from the boat. I gritted my teeth and shut off my PS3. Holy Crow the AI is totally fragging screwed up!

It's been a week of the community [censored]ing about thick-as-[censored] friendly AI, where is our tweak? I'd rather the friendly AI was OP than UP tbh

Not sure about the blue dots part... if there's a medic bot around they're usually pretty generous with rezzing haha. I've found that playing Free Mode and disabling Command Post buffs causes them to disregard them a little more...

Thing is, it can often be a long time before the AI even gets round to doing their objective. I've only ever played that mission as Medic, but I've failed it a few times because even though I'm trying my best to pick up the bots and I'm going on fragging rampages, for the first several minutes they'd rather just stand around and get shot.

MP isn't much better, can't tell you how many times to join a side to see the other is full of people and all you are left with are bots. I get that you can choose your faction to play as online, but there are some balance issues in doing so.
