Hmm, well I'm sorry you feel that way, that sounds rather discouraging..
What I can offer up is this:
In order for the AI to complete primary objectives, you really need to be over the top aggressive. This will afford the friendly AI the time to get to the objective zone, set up defenses, and do an ok job at holding, provided you continue your aggressive onslaught. My characters are all class specific, and I never swap to complete an objective. So being a light medic, or operative can sometimes be difficult.. however it seems holding back because of the thought of getting owned really provided nothing. But just charging in guns blazing, sometimes works wonders-- Raw aggressive behavior. Slide often, and brake the line of sight as often as you can by moving in and out of cover. You'll find you will live more often then not.
Play on Easy, the enemies die a lot faster, and it takes them a bit longer to get a beed on you, and begin to fire. I think it's all around more fun as well... just dropping enemies left and right. There is not a noticeable xp drop by playing on easy (usually feels like a gain), which bring me to the conclusion difficulty has no effect on xp. Only on 1) how much damage the bots receive 2) how long it takes them to aim, and fire at you.
If your using the Medium body type, the standard weapon load out is actually one of the best in the game. Put the COGA on the AR and one of the flex sights on the SMG. While using your AR from a distance, just tap the fire button two or 3 times per enemy and watch them drop. Only pull your SMG when you are expecting to be relatively close with the enemy or out of primary ammo, it is far superior in close combat. Just aim at the chest, and empty your mag.
I think some of these tips will help you a long your journey, now get in there and show um what your made of!
ED: Also, sometimes if you just follow the larger group of bots (say, as a medic) and really watch your fellow bots, they really don't perform badly. Keep in mind the defending team always has better viability of the enemy than the attacking team, so... since were speaking of AI... and defending AI spots, targets, and fires on the attacker, in say... 1 second... and the attacking AI spots, targets, and fires on the defender in 1 second... obviously the defending team has a large advantage.. AI vs AI just due to the simple fact they see the attacker prior to being seen.
