[RELz] Mythic Gatekeeper

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:14 am

He's a brute ... he's a beast ... and he's mistreated

Got the itch to texture again so I figured I'd try the gatekeeper. I gave him a face only a mother could love and plenty of scars. Obviously the pictures don't really do the thing justice so you better try it out in game. ;)

Honestly, it's kind of hard for me to tell without a side-by-side of how the original textures looked. I see some stuff I don't remember before, and I think it looks cool, but the real question with a retexture like this is not how cool it looks but how MUCH cooler it looks than the original, if you get my meaning.

Well, if you'd like a list of changes i suppose I could give them to you. He has a face now, he's glow mapped, he has all new high res metal and skin textures , he has whip marks and scars, he has an eye that was sewn open.

Or you can check out the vanilla picture posted at the nexus along with the mythic version. The differences are pretty clear in my opinion. As for how much cooler it looks. That's up to you. I just painstakingly photoshop this nonsense. ;)

When I find myself having a hard time telling how much of an improvement a texture replacer makes, I generally find looking at side-by-side comparison screenshots most helpful. In this case, though, it seems you've already provided the comparsion, and I can see the improvement, I'll be downloading this.

Yeah, now that you point it out, I do see that one is labeled vanilla, although I missed it when I was looking for it before. Sorry, was just trying to help!

Great job on the texture! People should try out your other creature retex mods as well as there's so much detail in them. You should probably put them in your sig so it's easy to find. :foodndrink:

Already installed - definite improvement over the original. :)

One comment - might be cool if there were some more runes on the skin on some other parts of the body on the front.

Yeah i tried out having a few more on the arms and even the back. It started to look too busy.
