Play Oldskool!

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 12:15 pm

Player-only matches are just wonderful. Play Oldskool and take the low-player-count games to help us get to the bigger ones!

EDIT: due to confusion, information on Oldskool is below.

Select Freeplay-> Public Game-> Match Settings-> Old Skool

Old Skool's settings are as follows...
Min Team Size - 8
Max Team Size - 8
Required Players - 1
Friendly Fire - On
Force Team Balance - On
Public VOIP - On
Death Spectator Mode - On
Rank Restricted - Off
Command Post Buffs - On
Overtime - Off

Old Skool games have only players, no bots. Even with small games of 2v2 it's refreshing.

The interface is NOT terrible, confusing, or complicated.

I played old skool until they dropped it to 4v4. So I play Competition now, 5v5. I dug old skool, having friendly fire on isnt as bad as I thought it would be. No bots is great too. I will play it again when they put it back to 8v8. I miss the command post buffs.

Old skool is 8v8, but with the temp 8 players total its reduced to 4v4 for the time being. When they fix everything I'm sure it will jump back to 8v8.. Plus no matter what mode you play its 4v4.. with the exception of competition, bots svck and dont count..

Everything cannot be 4v4, I was in a good 4-5 matches last night where it was 8v8. Im talking full games with minimal-to-no lag on the Box.

Competition svcks for not having the command post boosts turned on, which are a major part of the game.

That's why I play old school instead.

I would preffer old skool over competition except for the fact that 9/10 times that I join it I am the only one in the room and have to wait to do anything. Competition I can usually hop into a full game or a filling game with no problem. They should make old skool settings have a player minimum like competition does.
