Sentry Bot In helios one

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:29 am

I just emptied 500 10mm rounds into the sentry bot in helios one. His health did not move an inch. I even tried frag grenades, same thing. Only thing that damaged him was the turret but he ended up killing it so it could not finish killing him. I can not get past unless i do a console command to kill it.

So pretty much no player weapons can kill it.

Sentry Bots are horrendous enemies but they can be killed. What level are you?

It's sort of cheating but if you have a recent save from before you entered the building you could try going in again and seeing if something easier spawns.

Level 30 i have even tried the pulse grenade etc nothing is hurting it. Maybe a glitched enemy. I know after last past some creatures were made un-killable and they had to release a new patch to fix it but wonder if this is one of them.

Yeah I had to use AP rounds, every type of drug in my inventory, and get a lucky crit on his combat inhibitor. I finished him off with a pulse grenade after one of the hardest battles up to that point (was not TOO far into that playthrough.) Needless to say I invested in the robotics expert perk when I leveled up right afterwards. Probably a waste since I do not think I had to fight any robots the rest of the game except the ones at a crash site- they got the business end of a fat-man a boone with an antimateriel rifle.

Also- where you gernading in VATS? that seems to still be wonky with explosive/splash damage weapons and seems to always do minimum damage with some of them.

I watched a live stream of someone playing before I had decided whether or not to get the game yet and that guy died about 6 times at that encounter. He didn't get a sentry bot though- just a mister gutsy. He was also only level 5 though so it was still the hardest encounter he had come across up to that point. If you just can't get through it then you need to get something that lets you penetrate armor better. The reason those weapons you mentioned did not do much damage is that they do not have all that high of a damage per shot. You'd be better off with even with a hunting rifel+AP rounds than even a mini gun with AP rounds. Even with AP rounds you still have to have high damage per shot if the target is as heavily armored as a sentry bot.

Think about it- around 12 damage per shot is going to do minimum damage to a sentry bot even if you take 15 DT off the top of its armor. It has something like a DT of 40 (and the head ony takes 50% damage). Hunting rifle base damage is 45 so with high skill, a perk or two, and AP or JSP rounds you will not do minimum damage. With something fast firing each shot that is not a crit will do minimum damage and possibly also be reduced further depending on where you hit.

EDIT: Ah... nevermind I see you posted while I was writing my rambling essay.

I really wish the "gbo" command was in the unextended command set. It would provide a very quick fix.

setessential 0

Sadly the number you get when you click on someone is their unique reference ID and not their base object ID. Oh wells.
