WAC - Problem building bashed patch

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 3:11 pm

I downloaded the 3 WAC files and when trying to build the bashed patch it fail with an error about missing mesh for vampire in the ESM file. Anyone had a similar problem? I tried the update 2 esm and the latest esm with same failure.

It's a known issue, you should read WAC forum a bit.

Thanks for the quick reply, that was my next stop when I got home tonight :)

As for the solution, I know how to use Tes4edit to clan a mod, but this is over my head. Unless I just have to delete entries where race information would be? Can this be done in Tes4edit? Is there a clean file already somewhere?

It is not hard to do - just only delete the race files from the esp not the esm.

Just look under the race records and right click on them in the left panel and delete.

They are still held in the esm so they are not really needed and likely you are using a another race mod like RBP anyway - which is better.

That worked, deleted the vampire race. I can say that WAC is " The Bomb". Really improves the game IMO.

I guess i know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway - can WAC and FCOM co-exist?

Truthfully CorePC is the most authoritative person to ask a question like that.

I do not consider myself an authority - just another player trying to figure things out. But I did attempt an answer to that in the last FCOM thread - http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1143831-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom/page__view__findpost__p__16757238.

Well, you've helped me a lot in the past, so I consider your word to have a lot of weight,

That said, I guess I am possibly getting too greedy. With FCOM and JeLLO, and so many other mods, asking for more stuff is just making me appreciate it less.

If I ever do another playthrough of Oblivion, I'll follow your TIE+WAC playstyle...

Ah that reminds me about something I've been meaning to ask, is there something in specific I'd have to do to make TIE+WAC work well together? I remember reading some time ago about possible missing body nifs, but perhaps thats fixed with the .esp cleaning mentioned in this thread? Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, I just figured I'd ask while I saw TIE+WAC mentioned in this thread.

Mostly understanding that WAC is just not a finished product.

On the WAC forums there is a thread called required edits that I've contributed to that may be worth reading. Plus not all the optional esp are done so there is no point in using them all.

There is still the issue of a few creatures not merging with bash right - but far and few between.

So if you are willing to tackle these instances as they come up it is worthwhile, but if an issue like this comes up and you find it frustrating or overwhelming to deal with then I'd avoid it.

Thanks for the reply, I'll dig into the threads on WAC again (haven't been back there in awhile as it is/was quite dead) and see if I can make it work to my liking. It's tempting since WAC has a lot of nice stuff, but if it's out of my league then it'll be a project for later. :)
