First Person Animations

Yes you CAN play the game, the whole games isn't Sprintmaster 8000. Until someone mods it out, just don't sprint. Sprinting is only for weak characters such as thieves who can't handle large groups attacking them. Play as defensive character in the meantime.

The original concern was that the camera bob was for regular running also, a point that I haven't seen refuted by an official Bethesda comment yet. Also, short durations of camera shake won't make me sick, so if its only in sprinting, I personally don't need it modded out even, but maybe others are more sensitive, so it should still possibly have a toggle for them also.

They should add a backflip animation to first-person combat, so all the gamers who think backflips are cool would realise how much less cool they actually look when you're the one doing it.

@thread:
While I agree with hlvr et al in general, I don't think it's an invalid topic for discussion. Even if we can't expect (or wouldn't want) Bethesda to take such things into consideration, it's worth thinking about how the effects might be avoided or minimised.

Okay...

Listen up boys and girls: Play nice or this stays locked. I've just deleted quite a few posts from here. (If I didn't specifically PM you about a post I've deleted, then it's either because I find the cause to have been self-evident, or because it was making sole reference to another post that had been deleted.)

Ground rules for here on in:

People get to make threads about subjects which concern them. That trying to please every single member would not lead to a productive game design goes without saying. So... don't need to say it, do we? It's a given. Get off it. This whole forum is about people voicing opinions and concerns about the game, after all. Bethesda gets to decide which qualifies as "important enough."

Motion sickness from first-person games (or "screen wobble" in general,) is pretty widely-know and well-documented. Most famously, (if I remember correctly) this is why the Metal Gear games historically made use of fixed third-person cameras, long after that trend had passed - because Hideo Kojima himself suffered from this same problem. (I could be wrong on that last part - and I'm surely not going to bother researching and linking relevant articles after already having wasted far too much time cleaning up this thread to begin with.)

Personal bickering from here on in will result in a permanent thread lock. So please - play nice, okay? :wave:
