So I've found plenty of magazines but I'm sixty hours in now and I've found only one skill book. Where are they?

hi - there are approximately 51 skill books in the game.

There are no where near as much skill books in fnv than f3, so you don't get too overpowered

This is true, but if you take the skill book perk early like I have you gain x4 on each book read so you don't actually need that many to boost. So far i've found around 6 to read, 2 that need stealing from dodgy locations that I have not worked out yet as I don't want to anger the owner. Neutral Good character.

Just take 'em while "hidden". There is no other way if you want the book.

Yeah I know, one of them is in the NCR outpost camp that you get most of your missions from; in the HQ tent which happens to be full of NCR troops night and day. Ive not really looked into stealing it yet as i'm to busy killing ghouls up the road. :gun:

I've found like 3 of 'em in my 6 hours I've been playing this game.

Pick up the book (Z key on PC, not sure on consoles) and drag it to another room where nobody is walking around, then actually take it to inventory. The one at Mojave works best if you drag it over to the next room by the refrigerators and such.
