Dayumn! This is [censored]in' epic!

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:52 am

I'm enjoying this way more than with FO3, there are way more personalities than I ever could've imagined!
This game even makes me feel very emotional at times. I just went to Nipton and oh boy, that town is a great showcase of the [censored] up world of Fallout! First the 2 people fighting in front of it. First time I helped the girl out, but after reading the note of the guy.. I felt so guilty that I loaded a save, so I could just do it again in another way, this time. (I know, it's kinda' weak, but yeah.) Then I ran into the weirdo dude that said he won the lottery, and I was like, okay. Have fun with your money. Right after that I met the Caesar Legion dude with the dog helmet or sumn'. He's [censored] up, srsly. Those powder gangers on the crucifix really made me feel sorry for them even if they hate me. And THEN again some dude called Malcolm Holmes comes in and starts talkin' to me and how he's been following me and stuff.
And, and, and SO MUCH MORE! Boxcars is a [censored]in' legend! He's so cool, for some reason!
Let me tell ya', this game is intense. One of the best singleplayer games out there I played.
OH YEAH, the other time when some dude told me to help his girlfriend and it all turned out to be a lie was sooo epic too. Dayumn! I love those moments!
Anyways, sorry for my childish behaviour, now that I read it I look like a 12 year old, haha.

Here are some pictures!

This is a nice picture of Jackelyn and Thomas (?) I think. Her head is laying on the ground: http://img820.imageshack.us/i/screenshot1lxf.png/

A powder ganger on the crucifix: http://img146.imageshack.us/i/screenshot2tv.png/

The weirdo from Caesar's Legion: http://img526.imageshack.us/i/screenshot4a.png/

This is me just outside Nipton with my loyal robot, Ed-E: http://img69.imageshack.us/i/screenshot5ey.png/

Sorry again for sounding childish, I'm just so happy about this game.

First playthrough was so f****** epic... I only did maybe 5% of the side quests and it still took me 40 hrs xD. Some bad points but still a very good game.

I remember Malcolm. Had a nice chat with him in Goodsprings, followed him out of town, shot him in the head and took his caps. He was right, some people will kill for those things.

What was real fun was fighting my way through Cottonwood and the Fort under enemy fire... that was a drawn out battle.

I finally blew up a car in NV, hadn't done that yet. Had like 6 NPCs chasing me, blew them all to hell.

There are two major issues for me... some quest bugs and the dreadful stuttering when there are more than 2 people within 100 yards of you. And a few minor issues, like crafted ammo degrading weapons faster. They add tradeskills, and instantly make them inferior to something you find floating in a super mutant's toilet bowl.

Don't apologise, we need more posts like this :)

I know some people are having problems and I guess I am lucky that I've found very few. PC version - 1 quest partly screwed up but not broken, 1 unmarked quest that didn't seem to work very well, 2 npcs (that start the same quest) disappearing, possibly due to completing a certain quest but means I cannot get theirs and Boone lost his sniper rifle.

Other than those and the occasional crash I have to say I've been loving this game, it's superb and tbh not surprising that some things go wrong - Obsidian have really created some truly great quests and, given what they've tried to achieve, it's understandable that there are some bugs such as the ones I've mentioned.

I certainly think Obsidian, and Bethesda for their part too, need threads like this one - to let them know we appreciate them making a truly great game and show our support for them, rather then yelling at them, in getting more of those bugs ironed out.

Lol, he ran up to me by Jean's Sky Diving and gave me his little speech about it and took off towards Primm... a few minutes later I found his corpse by that Powder Ganger camp with his leg blown off from a powder charge.

I looked around :shifty: and quietly looted his star caps, thinking to myself "How convenient..." as I wandered down the road to Primm.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :bolt:

high point for me was...

somewhere out there...

attacked by 4 fiends, and i was low level and irradiated looking for a doc.

i had not saved in a while and was cursing loudly at being anbout to die and lose goodies collected

so i thought "feck it all" and went berserk with a 9 mm machine pistol thinking if i am to die i wont go down easily....

spraying burst wildly as they fired at me like loons and at my last 2 health bars like the scarface scene on the balcony,

all of a sudden 1 bullet hits a ruined truck and BOOM!!!!! UP IT WENT,taking all 4 of those bastids out.

never had this much fun in a game in a longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg time.
from FO3 to this the immersion factor is huge.

Went off to kill Caesar. Dropped two Mini-Nukes in the middle of the tent. All dead.

I have been playing RPG's quite a while now with FO3 being one of my favorites. Have to say FO:NV exceeded all my expectations. Heck I too felt the impulse to make a Thread just like this one expressing the sheer amazement at the scope and the detail of this game. Hats off to obsidian for keeping it hardcoe when it comes to rpg and the feel of fallout.Thank you Obsidian and oh yea.....

This IS [censored]in' EPIC indeed :celebration:

I was hoping that manipulating HELIOS would be awesome... very anti-climatic and not worth using Archimedes.

bypassed nipton until i had a good gun skill n sniper rifle
then sat in a caravan far away and watched the mayhem as i popped them off one at a a time.

drop one...sit down
drop another..sit down
until just the last guy left in his wolfs head.

took out his weapon
then his legs
then sauntered up to him while he dragged himself away.

his head exploded like a cabbage on a motorway hit by an artic.

then piled the bodies on a fire and watched as i ate some brahim steak sarnies.

i`m too old to be doing this....aint i ? ;)
