No Forrests? All snow?

Post » Thu Sep 02, 2010 1:45 am

Snow comes and goes in Skyrim, expect to see a lot of greenery during the summer months and in general when it doesn't snow.

If there are seasons (I don't think there are, it seems odd to make a "fall forest" if you have seasons and it isn't always Autumn) that is.

If there aren't seasons, there aren't seasons. But snow comes and goes in Skyrim. You don't have separate "snow forests" like you did in Bloodmoon and Oblivion. Although some forests will llikely be more heavily covered in snow.

How do you know that? Not saying it doesn't, but what's your evidence?

Skyrim has tall mountains which cause these drastic climate differences.

Please...your misspelling in the thread title screamed out at me, drawing me into this topic. Seriously, you can't spell forest? Usually, it's that people cannot spell 'Forrest' right...Why do people have so many problems with the possibility of multiple 'r's??? It's not that difficult! Just add one or leave it off....

Anyway...I'm pretty certain there will be forests, especially at the farther and most southern reaches of the province.

And this is why you don't watch trailers/look at screenshots with your eyes closed, since this is what must have happened to require this thread.

See?

No offense, but the ENB-series in that video (tbh the ENB-series in general) looks absolutely awful. Everything shines as if a nuclear bomb had just exploded.

I love how people keep thinking that the North is just snow. You know, it isn't like that in our world... why would it be like that in Tamriel?

*sigh*

We think that the north is mostly snow because we have talked to people in-game who have actually lived there. And in Bloodmoon we went half way. There was alot of snow.

Wow lots of hate haha. I was just wondering because my friend told me about Skyrim and how their was gonna be all snow. And I shared the video because I wanted everyone to see how beautiful Oblivion can be, and I wanted to know if Skyrim could achieve the same. I don't even know who made the mod lol

And to the guy who commented just to point out my misspelling, get a life. What, calling me stupid on an internet forum is going to make you feel better about yourself? I would understand if the whole thread had grammatical errors, but calling me out on accidentally typing another "r" is just sad. I just got my acceptance letter from Stanford, so don't insult my intelligence.

Did you not see the lush green pine forest or the fall forest in the trailer? Or the place with the windmill and the npc chopping wood where there was not a single flake of snow?

What does that youtube video have to do with Skyrim?

If you read the OP he's kinda giddy about nice graphics and forests.
But yeah, there certainly is a forest-y landscape shown in the trailer, albeit it seems to look more barren and like the forests you tend to find to the far north.
