Will my PC run New Vegas?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:14 pm

I was able to run Fallout 3 with no issues. My only concern is that my CPU does not meet the box requirements for New Vegas.

Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHZ (Box says it needs to be 2ghz)
XFX 9800GT
6 GB RAM
Windows Vista Ultimate

Doesn't New Vegas run on the same engine as Fallout 3? Why would the CPU requirements need to be increased?

Please advise, as I would prefer to get this on PC rather than Xbox360.

Thanks,

I did go there and it says no. Reason being my CPU. However, with this being the same engine as fallout 3 and my CPU had no issues there....

I'm looking for others that might be in the same boat or have had previous experience with an issue like this.

Thanks.

I'am sure it will run fine, especially since you were able to run FO3 just fine. Those "will my pc run it" sites sometimes say you can't run it, even though you technically can.

Thanks Air Force. I'd really like to play this on PC without upgrading my CPU.

I think you should be able to run it just fine. Those sites aren't very reliable. It says I can't run Fallout 3 but I can run New Vegas. Fallout 3 runs just fine on my PC. :brokencomputer:

Core 2 Duo 1.86GHZ is faster than 2GHZ dual core
