[RELz]An-Arane Cey: Lost Sword of the Ayleids

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:16 pm

WARNING SPOILER WARNING I have reached the chamber and spoken to the skeleton and defeated
him, I also defeated the wraiths and activated the sarcofagi, and then
I get a heads up that I have broken the seals, then nothing, no sword, nothing
and I cannot get out, I realise I have to do something but I cannot for the life
of me figure out what, I must have something to do with the sarcofagi and maybe
the varlastones but I am clueless, help!

In the code it says the once that message is displayed, you must then kill the wraith one last time which then ends the quest and disables the firewall...

I have done that, but nothing happens, wher is the sword supposed to be anyway?

it is supposed to drop to the ground when you kill the wraith after solving the tombs puzzle...

by some fuke did you finish it while the wraith was dead? Maybe that screwed it up...

Hi guys :)
I couldn't locate this thread at first, so WhoGuru was kind enough to help me out - Thanks!
Excellent mod.
At the ending
Spoiler
Skelator went quickly; then that bloody Wraith was trouble! Of course, impossible to kill (kept coming back) until sarcophagus solved...
Then, killed him eventually but he was tough!
And now the sword is mine, muhahaha...

And I enjoyed travelling all over the place, revisiting some of Cyrodiil's rural charms.
Beats the heck out of the DC Wasteland, LoL
Thanks again, WhoGuru and team.
I'll play your new mod when ready - looking forward to it,
Regards

Hi,
I wanted to ask about my An-Arane Cey sword.
Here are the specs:
Spoiler

value 14404
weight 36
hit 45
Absorb Health 40
Aylied Hunger 1 sec.
Chameleon 300%
Absorb Magicka 30
1000/1000 uses: 100
+15 Blade, Destruction and Strength (when sword wielded)

WhoGuru, is this accurate?
These numbers are at 125 health
Now that's a nasty weapon...
I was just curious about the chameleon enchantment? It's really generous! :o
Looking forward to more questmods,
Thanks again.

Yeah the Sword is super strong. Seriously..the strongest MMM mobs don't stand a chance against an An-Arane Cey wielder. Though what makes it balanced is you have to keep it charged and it runs out fast.

Very true! :foodndrink: She's powerful but you have to be thrifty to keep her useful. LOL

Gryphon: The chameleon is actually not cast on the player. If I understand Mage's explanation, it's a dummy spell used to remove the stock red glow outline Oblivion gives enchanted weapons. :P

Ahhh... I see. :)
It's just that I 'levelled' everything (with Wrye Bash) before playing this mod, and Wrye reported 22 things had been re-levelled - so I was wondering if the sword itself had been adjusted at all because of the levelling thing.
It appears to have 100 uses from 1000 full-charge, which seems really energy-efficient to me...
My nasty 'Glamdring' sword has 28 uses from 2800 full-charge, for example, which really eats through the Grand Soul Gems :o heheh.
But hey, I dunno - I haven't actually used An-Arane Cey on anything yet, so I'll let ya know!

Hehe. I still remember that awesome dialogue with..the person you get the sword from. LOL. RPGs need to have more bosses with attitudes like that.

Hi - very nice mod - I enjoyed playing it.
I have a small question : I am stuck with the white flame effect - I hit a lich and it reflected it back to me (??)
Any console command to remove it ?
Thanks :)

now Im not sure what you'll need (formID or editorID, so here are both)

player.sms effectASFireStuff
or
player.sms xx005BE8

(where xx s the mod's position i n your load order, looking a program like OBMM)

It was caused by the lich having a reflect spell effect, for some reason it didnt end on you.

This was the one !

Thanks a lot for the lightning fast reply :)
Is this a part of the Ayleid Hunger script effect ?
Would it be a nice idea to check the "cannot be reflected" flag ? (I am not quite sure what the script effect does)
It doesn't always go away even from some dead enemies (I have a dead lich serving as a lightbulb at the mo) :D

well i cant have only one effect that doesnt reflect...

i could put on some some checks to make sure it removes (like if dead or if player)...if we ever do another update on it.

:) thanks
btw it is useful for the effect to be applied to the player when he is hit with the Cey
Oh, and I just remembered I got 2 swords - the first after I defeated the skeleton - I fought the wraith with the Cey - there is a bug there I think

Have enjoyed this quest so far. I am now stumped though. I got to the end, killed the guardian, got the message and the wraith showed up. killed it, it respawned, and I got the message about the sarcophagus. I clicked on it and it said it was glowing. Killed the wraith again and hit space bar while he was still dying. I now have the sword, but the firewall will not go away and the wraith keeps coming back. Am I missing something? Having this unfinished is driving me absolutely barmy! lol

ahh...there is a random squence you have to hit with the coffins to stop the wraith respawning.

just keep going around the room activating sarcophagus until the screen shakes, there are i think 7 you have to get. The order yo uneed to actiavte is randomly generated so you'll just have to keep runnig around the room until they light up.

And you arent meant to get the sword like....it would wont right like the real one will, so you should sell/chuck it and just use the real reward one when you get it.

I like the fact that the order of the quest steps varies each time I go through this. Make sure you are level 23 before going into Lost Boy Cave.
