New Vegas DLC

Post » Thu Sep 02, 2010 12:40 am

Yea, I saw an announcement of the caravan DLC at ToysRus, and I made a small researche and found that that DLC is with preorder...The only usefull item I saw in the small list of that DLC is "Binocular".

Because it doesn't feal right at buying a game at 60$ and more (50$ is my acceptable limit), I was wondering if we get to use some thing like binoculars (it could be a "telescope
"... in french the word is more prescise....).

Do you know if there is other offers?
And do you recommand prepurchasing it?

Thank you, for your answers.

I just saw the Pre-order section of the site (Fallout official site.) and the bonuses with pre-orders.

Binoculars are in the standard game.

This is a list of all Pre-Order packs: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_add-ons

Have a nice day ;)

I am just wundering if all the pre-orders will eventually be DLC to be bought later. I think I read somewhere, that this will not be the case, but you never know if they will change their minds or they say no for now so people will not change their pre-orders then.

I saw the items with the pre-orders, on Fallout wiki... and I think there's not alot difference wether we pre-order, or not...

... am just gona wait for the GOTY edition to come out, and it'S price to go down. I'm patient enought.

The thing is is that those aren't DLC. They're pre-order bonuses. You won't get them in the GOTY.

Most of the things like the binoculars and spears are in the game already anyway.

Am gona buy the GOTY for my PS3... I want to play it in full quality (though, the PS3 version will shurely be a port of the Xbox360... the PS3 is longer to code, for the graphics, in order to have a superior image (which is better than the 360)), and "my" PC woulnd be able able to go in full quality (but on the PC... well you know what am thinking...).

I'm gona go for the PS3... in some years...'till the GOTY version comes out, and it'S price goes down...

It's great to hear that you're supporting the industry.

The pre-order bonuses are tiny, you know. For example, the caravan pack. The shotty and leather armour will be in the game, but won't 'ave the same bonuses. The Sturdy Caravan Shotgun is the same as the Caravan Shotgun, apart from you get it at the start and it's ot more 'health'. The Lightweight leather armour has decreased weight than normal leather armour, but it gives the same protection. Not THAT much of a bonus.

So, basically, all the items included in these DLC pre-order packs are findable and achievable later in the game, yes?

Not in the way they come in the DLC pack. So, like the V13 jumpsuit for instance, you can get an armored jumpsuit, yeah, but you can't get the V13 one unless you pre-ordered from a store that offers it.

Many of the items are variants of in-game items, or findable in-game. Like the Weathered Pistol, which is a variant of the 10mm pistol, or the repair kit, which is something possible to find.. However, the Vault 13 jumpsuit/canteen are comletely unique, and impossible to fnd in-game. (For those uninformed, your starting weapon in Fallout 1 was the pistol, and you came from Vault 13. ;) )

EDIT: Damn, I've been ninja'd! :ninja:

I heard that the only canteen in the game is the gamespot classic preorder one.

No. Some of the items are. Others, like the Vault 13 suit, Lightweight leather armor, and canteen are not.

Supposedly the only standalone canteen in the game is the preorder one, but I don't know if I believe that, and it should be trivial to fix with mods anyway.

Asking if FONV is worth it is like asking 'Is it worth it to breath?'
