Sudden Random Crashing!

I hate to start yet another problem thread so soon, but this issue has just popped up, and I don't know how to fix it!

My character is currently in the first plane of Oblivion, the one related to the Breaking the Siege of Kvatch quest, and I had no problems there so far until now; Suddenly, the game is highly unstable and will just randomly crash at any moment, mostly after reloading a save. There just doesn't seem to be a specific trigger however.

I thought it was save game related, but loading an earlier save, and heading to same area doesn't seem to resolve anything. :(

Only thing I can suggest is, never reload while inside an oblivion plane. They tend to lose their 'anchor' to Tamriel that way, and you can become stuck in the whiteness after you retrieve the sigil stone.
Try disabling mods until you find a culprit, half by half of your mods loaded each time.

Thanks for the advice. I just don't know what's going on :( I really haven't installed too many new mods. I just had a crash right now after being killed in game. This was on the fourth death actually, was in a hard battle.

One last bump for now. I'll test my game now to check if the problem persists outside of the Oblivion realm. Never had a single crash before this all started :(
EDIT: Well, this is interesting, running around in the testing-hall I have come across no crashes.
EDIT2: Hmm, just had a crash now. This was in the Oblivion Realm, and the playtime was much less then the test run. It would seem that this problem is related to the Oblivion Region.

I have been using Natural Weather for a long time, with the fixed ESP. The problems I've read seem to occur with HDR lighting on, which I don't use. I'm quite positive it's not related. And yeah, I run BOSS frequently.

I've narrowed down the problem to be related to the Oblivion Plane's Interior cells. The outside regions ran flawlessly with no crashes. I don't think I have any mods that alter the Oblivion Realm tho.

What are your OSR settings? If you've got Master\bReplaceHeap set to 3 or 5, try setting it to 1.

Well, you can test if it is, indeed, giving you crashes by removing it temporarily from the Plugins folder.

Just wait until Oblivion freezes over (no, seriously, I've had snow in Oblivion realms way back when I using this mod).

Enhanced Weather or All Natural are what you want nowadays, Natural Weather is really old. So old, in fact, it's one of the only weather mods out there that still supports Bloom lighting. The only plugin I'd recommend leaving in your game from Natural Environments is Natural Habitat (for the birdies :mohawk: ).

Actually I was thinking of downloading All Natural :) It's already got Natural Weather incorporated anyway.
I'll see what happens if I remove OSR.
EDIT: Nope, nothing :( However I did notice that game keeps crashing at one specific area; In the Corridors of Dark Salvation, if I open the locked door (The one that requires the Sigil Key) and walk up the hall, the game will always crash at that point. If I use COC and enter the testing hall, everything seems fine, no crashing.

Does the crashing still occur with all your mods disabled? Have you been able to narrow it down at all?

Getting on that now. I'll start by deactivating all mods that aren't merged into my Bashed Patch.
EDIT: Well this is quite strange. If I walk up the hall I can see a Flame Atronach. If I don't load my game, there's no crash. However, if I save in that area, and reload, the game will crash when approaching the Flame Atronach.

Sounds like a bad spawn to me. You could try waiting for a respawn before entering the tower and see if that helps.

Cant't say if it's related to your problem, but I do remember that somehow, back in my last character, Shining Creatures gave-me CTD at some points of oblivion realm - only when entering new areas passing by doors. Note that it's not the general CTD, only passing by doors, when the game need to load a new area of Oblivion. After (and inside) these critical loadareas I always could reenable it with no problem.

Well, I think it might be Shining Creatures. I did notice that on reloading, the Flame Atronach gets brighter. I'll have to wait for a respawn and try again.
Edit: Well, looks like the problems solved. I disabled Shining Creatures and the crashing stopped. Shame, it was a good mod.

I'm running the OCPS, and OSR with very conservative settings.
important system specs:
windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
core i7 950
nvidia gtx 580
6gb ddr3 1600mhz

I am running obse_loader and oblivion.exe with windows xp sp2 compatibility mode and running them as an administrator

I started a new game with these mods enabled and progressed until the first fight with a zombie. I have a save at the beginning of that room. Loading that save, i can fight the zombie, but around that time the game will crash.

Running obse_loader in vista compatibility mode bought me some time, running it without compatibility decreases the time until crash.

Well, your mod list doesn't seem too large, so I suggest disabling all of them, starting a new game, and testing. If you don't have any crashes, activate a few mods, and test again, etc etc.

Suddenly, the game is highly unstable and will just randomly crash at any moment, mostly after reloading a save. There just doesn't seem to be a specific trigger however.

I've narrowed down the problem to be related to the Oblivion Plane's Interior cells. The outside regions ran flawlessly with no crashes. I don't think I have any mods that alter the Oblivion Realm tho.


Try updating http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2037 version which fixed the problem with the harrada root causing crashes in oblivion relams.

Also Your Frans and MMM Setup is not correctl has you are not supposed to merge the frans file ..Read MMM for Frans setup once again in the MMM thread..
