That would ruin it considering you would have 3 factions -.-' I'm hoping the war will continue on the Ark...

Survival mode? I was kind of thinking of that, security chase after the Resistance (while they dislike them greatly they do not want to see other ark members suffering the same fate as the reconnaissance group) and when they land in the outside world they find out their is no more fuel, and the barbaric society that lives their attacks the group of security and resistance, who make a last stand.
So a group of 4-8 people (2 each or 4 each per faction) fight off waves of AI hellbent on killing you, only short periods between waves to re-stock, the game lasts until you are finally overcome.
No real classes, their is some health packs and some mines to place each round, which refill at the end of each round.
Obviously this is a what-if scenario, and completely different game mode.

Just some ideas

What if the outside world is overrun with zombies or vampires and group of normal humans from the outside leads a bunch of them (zombies/vampires) to the ark??

Just so long as it's awesome, I'll enjoy the DLC either way.

Kind of like on another post where they wanted a zombie mode but instead of zombies, savages from the outside world.

Basically yeah, But It could be either way zombies or savages, a survival mode has never really gone wrong for any game that I can think of (Halo, Gears, COD, L4D, etc..)

I think what they mean by "Savages" isn't cavemen, but lawless vagabonds. Chances are the rest of the world has dilapidated into a state where there is no society anymore, and humanity outside of the Ark live in a perpetual state of chaos where there is no law, and it's survival of the fittest. The Ark would be the last known beacon of civilized society, even though we see what state it's in.

Spoiler
But if you've completed both campaigns, you see that not ALL of the world outside of the Ark is barren, as evident from the boat sailing in.
