well I'm no doctor, but after the reactor blows up, in the dialogue in game is says that the ark would be inhabitable for awhile from a fallout because of RADIATION now RADIATION, has a tendency to do some weird crap to people IRL such as genetic mutations, if you don't believe me Google it. It's cooler this way because at least it's a plausible idea that somewhat fits into the story making it more seem less rather than a separate game entirely and having zombies out of nowhere.

this doesnt realy matter, if its fun its fun, but wtf is with zombies cod has it halo has it red dead redemtion has it why is adding zombies to a game such a common thing

im not ranting about it i just thinks its funny

Halo doesn't have Zombies.

But yeah, freaking every game now has some kind of zombies. We don't need Brink to run off the cliff with the rest of lemmings do we?

Bad idea.

You know, we should put some kind of mutants with gatling guns coming out of their shoulders, and shotguns for hands instead.

That'd be a far more interesting survival mode.

Actually, they do. It's a multiplayer gametype called Infection, one or two zombies to start, and if you get killed by a zombie, you respawn on that team. Been around since Halo 3

Yea! that totally ties in with the story too, that's sick. And they could change maps to look run down after the fallout and that's when people on the ark starting mutating :D beauty contribution man!

That sounds cool, I would play the zombie mode a lot if done properly. I think there could even be a story for both factions in it too. If you're the security (and presumably their campaign was successful) the zombie virus could be something to do with the food or Arkoral the islands are made of, and if you're the resistance (again presumably their campaign was successful) it could be a disease from the outside world which was brought back to the Ark. Also the resistance side of it could expand the game around the world.

Exactly. If you want to shoot zombies, do it right and play the L4D series; just because CoD stuck zombies in doesnt mean all shooters have to.

Doesnt make it a completely taboo for every successive game after COD either - in my opinon "zombie/onslaught" AI wave modes have become a valid game mode in online shooters. Think it would work in Brink - good idea.

Really? So there were like mutants attacking people in Tsjernobyl and Fukushima? cool :D
I'd think the disease or sickness in the slums (container city) would be a more plausible reason.

This is a great idea, this mode would offer another mode of play and it really fits well with brinks overall game design. Love it, hope they think about it. I don't even think it would be that hard for them to do, because this mode would fit the level and objective layout right now. Just slap down some rundown textures add zombots and there you have it 8 player co-op action.

Haven't heard of any set around Fukushima (yet) but there's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:_Shadow_of_Chernobyl for fiction to explore mutated and otherwise altered life in the aftermath of Chernobyl

Sounds great to me. I'd play it. I enjoyed Red Dead Redemption's zombie mode. It was fun

Well Bethseda would have to create some new maps where there are not places where only light characters can go and on each level there would have to be a mix of light, medium, and heavy type zombies.

What if you had to escort somebody who was wearing a BIO suit and had the cure but you had to bring him to security controlled territory. Or if you had to escort a bot across the map and engineers could build barricades to block the zombies. Soldiers well molotovs grenades and ammo. medics are medics and what would an operative do?

Operatives could be in charge of hacking/activating booby-traps, caltrops for slowing the zombies down (even further - and especially if light/quick zombies are in the mix), or running into a mob of zombies with a cortex bomb at the ready.

Not Zombies but a Hoarde/Rush/Survival mode. The Zombies just seems too far fetched.

Ya horde mode or something like that would be cool, I'm not saying do zombies exactly like code, but incorporate something like that with splash damages own unique style.

That much radiation would kill people long before any mutations would occur.

Don't act like a know it all unless you actually know it all.

I didn't say that it wouldn't kill them or that I could predict that radiation would mutate them.
If you look at what I said, I was stating that if SD wanted to put this as a DLC then this would be one way to fit in.
I was simply replying to his as you say "know it all" response.
thanks for coming out though.

okay, no matter how you frame the idea and story concept ,myself and others will ultimately cringe in disgust at the mere mention of a zombies mode, simply because its sooo trite /redundant /unoriginal / uninspired /etc......but i'll give credit to the OP for implementing all his ideas into how each class would have to be used to deal with the enemies, awesome concept............honestly its a great idea ,but please anything but zombies..... call them mutants , retards , canadians i dont care just not zombies. haha.... j/k my fellow bros to the north

Zombies are way overused and it's a pretty lame game mode, imo.
