Vampire face bug fix on 64-bit

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:52 pm

I'm intentionally playing as a vampire and suffering the savegame bug. Is there any fix that doesn't require OBSE? Any way to 'freeze' or lock your face in a current morph state?

The Unofficial Oblivion Patch features a vampire aging fix, as does Wrye Bash. If that's what you're talking about.

The Bash method is recommended to save you a plugin slot, but if you're new to modding, just use the UOP's plugin for now.

However, I'm pretty sure that once the dreaded Vampire Aging Face bug hits, your SOL on the patch front. If that's so, you're going to need to revert to a previous save to fix it (or you could use Bash's face importer to get your face back... I dunno, I've never played a vampire character).

Just to clarify I'm talking about the bug where once you're a vampire your face will sometimes revert back to racial default when you save.

Not new to modding BTW.

And that's exactly the bug we're talking about, too.

If you're not new to modding, Bash is able to fix everything this bug breaks. Add the UOP Vampire Aging Face fix to your Bashed Patch settings tweaks, if you've already been inflicted with the bug, import a face that is not affected into your bugged save, and you're done. 10 to 15 minutes, depending on how long a patch rebuild takes.
