I use OOO which offers grinding of Gems into dust for alchemy and also the Geomancy for spells etc, but I don't really like those systems, they don't do what I want.

I'd like a different system where I can use Gems to trade in for something better.

My idea so far is to have Gems turned into a Varla stone once enough of them are collected. I'd probably go by value and after 1000 gold worth of gems is found, 1 Varla stone can be created from them.

Anyone have any other ideas that I could use Gems for?

I'd like some Diablo II style socketing. That'd be cool.

I'm like a magpie, and collect every shiny gem I come across (throwing away the dull flawed ones). I have a room in my castle dedicated to gem storage, and have them strewn across a giant table.

I also have a table full of sweetrolls and sweetcakes downstairs :touched:

You can trade in gems for varla stones and whatnot in http://www.lostspires.com/. Though it's more of an easter egg than a store.
