I'm doing the Things That Go Boom quest and I'm havin trouble getting through the artillery strike. I talked to the gambler and got the note from him but it isn't helping at all. Does anyone have a map or something that could help me get through?

What I did to get through the artillery range is run up the hill and duck into the first destroyed house I saw. Once in I hid in what I believe was the north-east corner that had part of the ceiling covering my head. I waited there until the artillery barrage stopped and I ducked into another house keeping to the left. When I made it inside I repeated hiding in the same corner. I continued to do that until I made it to the fence and followed it to the gate. At the fence the artillery stops completely.
