Dagon doesn't go stomping into other realms as far as we know, that's sort of Jygy's Niche (and is why he got put into a cell of mad-stuff in the first place).

He waltzed right through Nocturnals realm to get to the Battlespire.

First of all, I don't seem to remember Nocturnal getting all angry about that, and secondly even if Nocturnal wasn't to pleased with what was going down, it wasn't an invasion of her realm, it was just on the way to Mundus.

It's easy to ignore every obscure text ever written by simply refusing to reexamine existing lore with your new persepctive.

If all TES lore was consistent, I wouldn't have to decide which bits of lore to be consistent with.

In this case, I was told the A/L duality was well-established, and I worked it into my story.

Sure but none of those are relevant right now, aren't they? Right now all that matters are the Sixteen and Eight and One because the others are foot notes to their history. Important foot notes, but not required for the discusion.

First off, I discussed Malcath and Merdia (both of whom cannot be readily classified) but regardless, who says? That whole wheel thing reeks of inconsistency.

If you believe the theory of antithesis, you must reject the wheel theory and the limited classifications of "Aedra" and "Deadra".

If Mankar Camoran was right about Tamriel being a realm of Oblivion, then he still probably would have been pairing Tamriel to the incorrect Daedric Prince, just like he did with the other realms he named.

The point of that speech was to get across Mankar's world-view. It's not really relevant whether he was 'right' or 'wrong'.

In any case, the incorrect pairings of Princes and their Realms was a genuine error, but not one of Mankar's making. That part of the speech was originally written by Michael Kirkbride as part of his process of 'getting inside Mankar's head' and was not intended to be used unaltered in the game. Unfortunately, it did end up being used without anyone checking it for lore-accuracy first, but that wasn't Michael's fault (nor was it Mankar's).

It wasn't Dagons intention to invade, and she might not have been at first but I'd imagine she was pissed Dagons forced started slaughtering her minions and occupied the realm anyway. On the otherhand, Nocturnal isn't really the type to get angry, I imagine she was just moping somewhere in a dark corner.

That still doesn't explain why you have to drag in the Manga-Ge and every other odd exception. Sometimes generalizations are a bad thing, especially when it's those exceptions that matter, but right now it's not relevant.

For Mankar's idea that Mundus is yet another Daedric realm it doesn't matter that Meridia might have come from Aetherius because right now she has her realm in Oblivion, neither does it matter that supposedly Trinimac became Malacath (or was replaced according to Gortwog) because Malacath has a realm in Oblivion.

If you want to discuss those points specifically, make your own thread and provide a glossary of terms because http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=758815&st=40&p=11005458&hl=trinimac%20%20malacath%20%20antithesis&#entry11005458 you got everybody horribly confused.
