Graphics options

I just remembered that to get GTA IV to run better on my PC, I set the graphics sliders equivalent to XBOX 360 settings (which were lower than PC). I figured if a console gamer can play at those settings, can't be too bad.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what the console equivalent settings are for New Vegas? Everything set to high? Medium? My performance currently isn't too bad but it does lag in some areas. Just want to try out the console settings to see how it looks.

I think you'll get closest to the same graphics on the xbox at medium settings, then make sure you change the following.

Well I do know the xbox360 version does not use the large textures- so switch it to medium.

I think the actual game resolution on the 360 is 720p (if output is set to 1080p then it is just upconverting but not actually rendering at the higher resolution) so set resolution to 1280x720.

I am also pretty sure the xbox360 version does "bloom" filter effects rather than HDR.

You'll also want to pull back the view distance sliders about 20% of their default value.

Let me know how that works - the only thing I don't even have a guess on is AA and AF. Well that's not true, I would guess AA 2x-4x and AF of 4x if at all but that's really being pulled from some place that renders it not-fit for human consumption so take it as a shot in the dark.
