Crashes and memory

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 4:37 pm

Hi all

I think that the time to time crashes and freezes are linked to the memory usage and the size of the actual game (i mean how many time you play and how many things are in memory because you played for hours and hours).

For example i started having crashes after approx. 15hours of game. Some can play 40 hours before having these crashes.
What is sure is that the more you play the more chances you can got these crashes.

So i try to begin this thread

From how many game hours you began to have crashes (in case you have) and what is your free memory before playing the game ?

I doubt that.

In my very first game I've played without any freezes/CTDs many hours. My toon was level 26 when I hit the Vault 3 savegame bug. After that any game (even a new game) would freeze or CTD after about 40 min..

I'm still puzzled why I had no freezes or CTDs initially (I did not change anything). But now, it seems, the game has a severe memory leak.

I'm new here to the forum and I just came here to find out what's the deal with FONV because even a new character, a new reinstall of os and game still crashes my game. I'm talking about nothing installed except steam, FONV, updated gpu and realtek drivers.

I'm lucky to play for 30 minutes without freezes and CTDs.

Windows XP SP3 32 bit, Nvidia 9800 GT - 260.99, AMD Athlon 7750, 3.5 GB RAM, DirectX June 2010.

I already stopped playing because its useless and I'm really disappointed and frustrated.
