There were only 60 gates.

I want to be able to fight dragons after I kill the first batch. And srsly, only 20 dragons? That would svck. 20 epic fights, and the no more fighting dragons until you start a new character and go through everything all over again, and once that batch is dead, new character to grind just to get to dragons.

In all caps so this will be noticeable, ABSORBING A DRAGON'S SOUL FUELS THE ABILITY TO LEARN SHOUTS, IT DOES NOT EQUAL THE LEARNING OF ONE SHOUT PER DRAGON, IT COULD BE 10 DRAGONS TO LEARN ONE WORD.

Like oblivion gates completely disappeared after finishing tha main quest, I think that dragons should disappear too after ending this game's plot line. Before finishing it, there should be limited amount of these dragons, because if you get great powers from them, your character could get overpowered somehow by killing dragons all the time. I go with 'no'.

Dragons coul keep appearing when you hunt them down untill you beat the main quest. After that, the "spawn rate" of the dragons should be ten times as small, so that you could really feel the difference in the game world when you first encountered 10 of them, then only 1. Much rarer after MQ but still plausible. I still voted limited number as otherwise we might have found our own cliffracers i Skyrim..

Some of the dragons need to be finite, while others can be infinite like all other enemies (e.g. Dragonlings and similar baby dragons). I'm pretty certain, however, that Bethesda will do it like this, in some way or another anyways.

Seing as I don't really buy into TES "endgame" I think that there should be an unlimited "supply" of dragons. As long as that fits within the story, gameplay and reason.

I'm not entirely sure if I would like an infinite supply of dragons, call me a fun sponge but the fewer the dragons, the more epic the game feels! However, I do think that there will be more than the 20 featured dragons in which you get your dragon shouts. For example, I think there will be lesser dragons and baby dragons (Take a glimpse at dragon age 2). It will add to the diversity and lore of the dragons in Elder Scrolls, it would fit rightly to have a few mischevous dragons smaller than the boss ones.

I'd like to think of the 20 dragons as bosses, whilst these lesser dragons can be sub-bosses, I think Bethesda could accomplish an overall satisfying balance if they use this idea.

They have already said dragons are not rare. They likely keep spawning as long as you havnt killed the foozle.

well i think the story requires you to rid the land of dragons, but i'm not sure. I wouldn't mind if they were unlimited though, but i don't think they will

I wouldn't have wanted the Oblivion Gates to be unlimited though, thats for sure.

I just don't want dragonlings, then bigger but still small dragons and then finally boss dragons. I only want boss dragons.

Well nobody seems to want to see any dragons after the main quest is over. Thats a shame. I would love to still have dragons flying around after the main quest is over instead of just an empty sky. to me they are not oblivion gates as just another cave entrance. dragons are a living breathing natural animal that needs protecting. SAVE THE DRAGONS!!! wanna buy a tee shirt?

appoligize for the long post to follow;

What i think i know about dragons. (a very misunderstood creature)
A dragon is any species of the dakonian family. They are warm blooded creatures having many traits of reptiles and/or birds. they tend to congregate in mountainous terrain high in elevation having a very large territory that they will defend to the death if need arrises. This large territory is needed to hunt for prey, mainly large herbivores, which dont pose a large defensive threat. Due to the slow metabolism of a dragon a single cow could last a week before they would have to hunt again. This means that hunting is the smallest part of a dragons life. A dragon on the hunt is a very scary thing to observe to a casual viewer hence all the false rumors and myths. For instance the sub-species with the ability to breath fire are seen as roasting their prey. well this is just not true. Their fire breathing ability is typically used to herd their prey to a more suitable location and to seperate the weaker animals from the herd. Its not used as some type of offensive weapon.

Most of a dragons energy is consumed by attracting the female of the species for mating. Its no easy task for a dragon. The firey breath also has many other more mundane uses. it is used to catch the eye of a female dragon who may be in the area (think of the common firefly). The mating rituals of the dragon seem to be very complex in nature. Enticing the female of the species is a very difficult thing for the male dragon to do. not only does he have to present a very bright display to be seen but he must also have a well maintained nest located in the cave which it lives. This is where the dragons hoard comes into play. Bright and shiny objects. Gold, silver, shiny armor, shiny weapons, magical items that glow, etc. the female will inspect the quality of the hoard and the male dragons ability to procure the objects from the habitat. A good forager will be a good provider for the female. This is also where people end up in trouble. they are usually wearing these nice shiny objects and the dragons are very attracted to them to place in their hoard. A little care on the persons part would keep them from being harassed. Really all the dragon wants to do is separate the creature from the shiny objects. So it instinctively breaths fire on them to seperate them from the shiny objects. Just as it would seperate a weaker animal from a herd.

If the game is about the genocide of dragons I'd be very disappointed.

well Dragons are infinite, as stated in the new IGN interview, spoken by Todd. there are also random and scripted Dragon encounters, and its possible to even have 3 attack you at once, which todd says was too much lol.

nah, I think there will be cliffracers, iirc they were drove out, a few could migrate to skytim... Also I wouldnt mind seeing AI fight eachother (unlike rats and wolves teaming up on me) it would be interesting to see dragons hunting cliffracers.

No then they lose their fun and significance. I really want a lot less dragons than Oblivion Gates.

Limited amount, make them powerful and difficult to take down. I want to be able to say, yeah, I took out all the dragons *flex*
not: "Oh. It's another dragon" *yawn*
