Console Controls for Skyrim

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 6:46 pm

Sorry if this is a no brainer, but I was wondering whether there is any information on if Skyrim will support using a keyboard/mouse for any of the Console systems? I heard some games for PS3 can do this. I was a big fan of Oblivion and played it on the PC. I am considering playing Skyrim on a console, but I think it would be great if you could still control your character with a keyboard and mouse.

Consoles use game pads, PC uses mouse and keyboard... simples.

I know you can type on games with a keyboard, although I have never heard of console support for playing them with one.

I doubt it , man once you go mouse and keyboard its hard to go back. Whenever i pick up a game for 360 or ps3 ( exclusives only ). I find myself taking a few minutes to get use to it. Im sure bethesda will have the controllers optimized just right.

There's a product out there whose name escapes me at the mmoment that will let you play Xbox with a keyboard and mouse, actually. Look it up on youtube.

When I first bought a 360 I looked into the unofficial keyboard and mouse option because like you I was used to that control method on the PC. But eventually I got used to the gamepad. I never got as good at aiming with a gamepad than I am with a mouse but otherwise you get used to it pretty quick.

PC has a different interface because of mouse and keyboard, and if they try to add mouse/kb support to console versions they will have to use this interface. Extra coding, extra resources, for a feature with (let's admit it) very low demand.

Sorry for the letdown but don't hold your breath.
