Your Bruma Statue

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:40 pm

Hello..

When exactly is your statue made in Bruma again?? I remember on a play through in the past I saved before that point and kept trying different styles of clothing before my statues construction. I dont want to just wear anything when my statue is being built. I know it's right after a quest and just before you talk to Matain, because soon as you talk to Martain the statue is built. Just forgot what quest it's after. While on topic, what is your statue wearing?? Since alot of my business takes place in Chorrol, I like to have the Escutcheon of Chorrol when its being built. Also black wide pants to cover my boots.

Another quick question. Has anybody taken the pirate ship in the Waterfront District as a home?? The captains quarters can be used as a small house. My question to you is, was it worth it?? Killing the pirates would also mean I dont get to hear those awesome songs they sing over and over. They make the place seem less empty because their always talking. I want to deco a ship, and this one will be perfect. I'm debating on killing the Pirates. The ones in Anvil are okay, but one has blood all over the floor in where my quarters would be and the other has the woman selling things for a plug-in, who is also in my would be quarters.

Any help is appreciated..

The Bruma statue is made after you complete the battle for Bruma quest and then talk to Martin. From what I know it is made with you wearing the highest quality items in your inventory not necessarily what you are wearing at the time so if you want something specific you should only have what you want on your statue in your inventory when doing the battle for bruma. There are mods that let you change it at will though if you are on PC.
No opinions on the pirate ship though since I use mod added homes.

This thread should probably be moved to the spoilers section now.

i did the battle of bruma with mod armor to see what would happen (made sure i had nothing else in my inven) and afterwards i went back and my statue looked like the mod armor i was wearing...IT WAS AWESOME

on another note, i did kill those pirates though i never made the ship my home

Then your statue will depict you wearing that as long as there is nothing of higher quality in your inventory i.e. if you have a daedric helmet in your inventory then you will be wearing that on the statue rather than the black hood

Bear in mind that your statue is just like any NPC, and will not equip broken armor.

Can be quite embarrassing if, like me, you wear leather greaves just for the look and don't bother repairing them.

Having a staff in your inventory at the time can be annoying too.

Actually the model for the statue is determined when you enter Cloud Ruler temple to talk to Martin, not during the battle itself. So you can wear whatever you like during the battle and then re-equip before entering Cloud Ruler. However, as has been mentioned previously, the game figures it out from what's in your inventory, not just what you're wearing, so drop whatever you don't want showing up on the statue. The http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Oblivion is down right now, so I can't send the link to the specific page, but look under Quests, Main Quest, Defense of Bruma and they explain how the statue is generated in the notes somewhere.

Anyone tried casting resurrect on your statue. Lol. It steps off the statue and acts like a normal person!

Save before you try it. And "kill" the statue first, then resurrect it and see what happens.

Well, i checked my statue. All well and good; Morag Tong Armor, Hatred's Soul, Daedroth Tooth arrows, but it's missing it's head  Maybe because i play with a custom race? (or is the statue made with "CreateFullActorCopy command?). Also it was apprently badly wounded since it fell down (part of MMM) and changed poses

Dang, my statue is holding Wabbajack. Should be Thornblade or a Daedric bow, but I guess Wabbajack has a higher value. Could be worse though since it looks like a spear.

I checked it again, now it has a head, but appears to be leaning against the city wall. Darn lazy, drunk Nords... :swear:
